Dread Comet can be located in The Sickle at the Dhalmekian Republic. Players can proceed to this area quickly by fast traveling to the nearest Obelisk, Dravozd.

Upon fast traveling to Dravozd's obelisk, move opposite of the town, and turn right when possible. Keep moving forward until you some ruins with white bricks. Move past it until you reach a tall ruined structure.

Turn left and move towards the open field, and you'll see a red Chocobo, the Dread Comet, ready for battle.

Dread Comet doesn't have a Will Gauge so you won't be able to stagger it, but it's easy to flinch with continuous attacks and strong abilities.

Beware of Choco Meteor When It has Low HP

Choco Meteor is a special ability where meteors fall down from the sky and create fire rings that grow when they hit the ground. A mark will appear on the ground before the meteor falls, so get away from it early, then dodge or block the rings since you won't be able to run away from them.

Be especially wary of this move when Dread Comet's HP is lower: it becomes the much stronger Choco Meteorain, where it sends out even more meteors during the special move! Focus on dodging instead of attacking when it uses this move, since every hit deals a lot of damage!

Bring Lots of Recovery Items

Choco Meteorain is a tough ability to face, so if you find yourself failing to avoid it, make sure to carry lots of recovery items like high potions with you.
