There is no difference in outcome between the Bad Blood choice “Accept the soldier's challenge?” Both choices will result in the soldier becoming hostile to you, but with different dialogue.

However, both options end with the soldier exclaiming, I am nothing like you! But if you're not going to kill me, then go! Leave! before quest completion.
