    turtwig also has super effective moves against 4 of Cynthia's pokemon spiritomb garchomp milotic and gastrodon

    While most people favor piplup or chimchar when choosing their starter I chose turning because it has an easy time at crasher wake Roark volkner and is good against fantinas first pokemon and it is immune to volkners electric attacks also it takes till level 18 to evolve then level 32 but piplup takes till level 16 then level 36 20 level difference but for turning its a 14 level difference so I would recommend chimchar or turtwig over piplup
