Ascent to Power Quest Walkthrough

Obtain Balbala's Barya

You can unlock the quest Ascent to Power by obtaining Balbala's Barya. This item can be obtained by defeating Balbala, The Traitor.

Return to the Ardura Caravan and Speak to Zarka Use the Desert Map to Travel to the Trial of the Sekhemas Place Your Barya Into the Relic Altar Speak to Balbala, the Released Use the Altar Relic to Start the Trial Defeat Rattlecage, the Earthbreaker Use the Altar of Ascendency to Choose Your Ascendency

Return to the Ardura Caravan and Speak to Zarka

Upon picking up Balbala's Barya, return to Ardura Caravan and speak to Zarka.

Use the Desert Map to Travel to the Trial of the Sekhemas

Use the Desert Map and click on the pin with Trial of the Sekhemas.

Place Your Barya Into the Relic Altar

Once in the Trial of the Sekhemas, proceed to the Relic Altar near a waypoint. You must interact with the Relic Altar to automatically place Balbala's Barya.

Speak to Balbala, the Advisor

After placing the Barya in the Relic Altar, Balbala, the Advisor will be summoned. Talk to Balbala, the Advisor, and you will receive an Urn Relic.

Use the Altar Relic to Start the Trial

Interact with the Altar Relic again to start the Trial. You may also insert an Urn Relic to obtain a buff applied to you for your trial run. These Urn Relics are not consumed and can be interchanged should you get more Urn Relics.

To change Urn Relics in a new Trial attempt, talk to Balbala and choose the Attempt Trials Again dialogue option. You will again receive Balbala's Barya, which you can place into the Altar Relic. Upon placing the Barya into the Altar Relic, you may again put the Urn Relic of your choice.

To complete the quest, you must complete several Trials based on what you choose on the Trial Map. You obtain buffs/debuffs based on what you choose.
Trial of The Sekhemas Guide

Defeat Rattlecage, the Earthbreaker

The final Trial would be to beat the floor boss, Rattlecage, the Earthbreaker. Careful not to get hit by its swings and slams! Even if you don't die, you might lose too much Honor, which would automatically fail the Trial!

Use the Altar of Ascendancy to Choose Your Ascendancy

Upon defeating Rattlecage, the Earthbreaker, you may proceed to the Altar of Ascendency near Balbala, the Advisor, where you can choose your Ascendency Class!

You may also go to Keth Forge to convert leftover Sacred Water into Keys. You can use these Keys to open Bronze, Silver, or Gold Caches!
