Unless you plan on gifting expensive items to certain characters as part of their romance options, the above Valuables are usually safe and profitable to sell for more Gold.

Note that you will not want to sell everything on your Valuables tab since your key quest items such as the Provisioner's Note or Missive to the Captain are kept here.

Before selling anything, carefully assess a valuable's description if it serves any particular purpose (such as for a quest).

Sell Gems Where Scarcely Seen

The Tiger Eye, Jasper, and Onyx all have an increased selling price depending on where you sell them. Sell it in an area where it's scarcely seen, and it will sell for more gold.

Sell Unneeded Equipment

Dragon

Equipment
List of Armor List of Weapons

Selling unneeded early game weapons and armor can net you around 200-300 G each. If you are only focusing on specific vocations, you can sell off old, unneeded, or incompatible equipment to a vendor.

Get Free Equipment from Vocation Changes

Dragon

When you or your Pawn change to a new vocation for the first time in the Vocation Guild, you are given free equipment to use for your vocation. It's best to acquire all of the Starter Vocations early first since each only costs 100 DCP.

Once you have obtained all of the available vocations, feel free to sell off the gear you do not need. Having a lot of gear on you will only add to your weight, if not, more time management in storing items at the Inn.

How to Change Vocations

Sell Excess Materials

Dragon

Common Drop Prices
Goblin Horn
60 G
(× 10 = 600 G)
Beast-Skin
42 G
(× 10 = 420 G)
Jagged Bone

(× 10 = 420 G)

The above are fairly common monster drops in the wild. Goblins are one of these types of monsters and will frequently drop Goblin Horns when defeated.

If you are looking to get some quick money for enhancing starting equipment to the first level (usually around 100-200G), you can sell these materials and find them again from hunting goblins in the wild.

Where to Sell Items

Sell at Vendors

Dragon

Find Vendors at armories, smithies, sundries and the like.

Items are sold at Vendors and they are commonly found in settlements such as Melve or Vernworth. Vendors being nearby usually also indicate the presence of a nearby Inn for withdrawing and depositing items.

Do take care to avoid accidentally unsheathing your weapon as this can scare them away and prevent you from temporarily interacting with them.

What Items to Keep

Keep Crafting Items and Curatives

Dragon

Curatives are essential to restoring you or your Pawn's health and stamina, and clearing any debilitations or harmful status effects. To obtain any of the stronger curatives, you will have to craft them from other curative items.

It best to keep these items to ensure that you have enough means to survive while out exploring! Only sell when you are sure you will not need them.

List of Curatives

Keep Rare Enhancement Materials

Dragon

While the Slate-Colored Horn sells at 180 G a piece, it is used extensively in armor enhancement.

Before selling any material to a vendor, check if it is part of any recipe you need at enhancement. Enhancement allows you to strengthen your weapons and armor for combat.

For example, the Misshapen Eye is a material that drops from a Cyclops. When sold, it goes for 900 G. However, keeping this item is more important since Cyclopes are significantly rare and it can be used to upgrade equipment at a higher enhancement level.

How to Enhance Equipment

Keep Quest Items and Valuables

Dragon

Take care of valuable quest-related items as losing any of them (either through discards or selling) may cause you to fail certain quests. If not, it will make it harder to complete them.

Quest items do not just include valuables but possibly other materials, curatives, and gear as well.

For example, the curatives and valuables you obtain for Provisioner's Plight are required for completing that quest. Finishing that quest rewards you with Dried Fish that you can use to craft Roe Roborant for the later quest Medicament Predicament.

What is Safe to Sell?

Old Armor and Weapons

Dragon

All Armor All Weapons

Old armor and weapons with no use are safe to sell to a Vendor. They will only take up space in your inventory, so you can sell them without worrying if they have any other use!

Most Gems

Dragon
Most gems don't have other use in the game aside from selling them. They also have a high selling price compared to other items on other categories, especially if you sell them to a region or area where they are scarce.

Some gems, like Jasper, Onyx, and Tiger Eye, have one other use — giving them as a gift to an NPC to increase your affinity with them. You might want to keep them if you have some extra Gold and give them to NPC to advance your romance progress with them if you're interested.

Rotten Items

Dragon
You can obtain rotten items if you store organic items, like fruits and meat, and don't use them while they are still fresh. Since they can easily be obtained anywhere and might take up too much space, you can sell them and get 1 G for each.

Don't try to feed rotten items to your characters, as they can get Blighted Debilitation and cause them to lose health over time. It might linger for a while if you don't have a potion for it!

Common Monster Drops

Dragons Dogma 2 - Goblins
You will get tons of common monster drops while you progress in the story, do side quests, or just random explorations, as there are a lot of monsters everywhere you go.

It is safe to sell several of them, but only if you need Gold, as they are used to enhance equipment. Try to save at least 2/3 of your monster materials, as you might fall short later on once you start upgrading equipment!
