You can equip up to five (5) pieces of armor in Dragon's Dogma 2. These are your main source of defense and resistances, so don't skimp on them!
Accessories like rings and capes can also be worn by your character to provide additional effects like more Health or carrying capacity.
Most armor can only be equipped by specific vocations. Unlike weapons, some armor pieces can be used by more than one vocation while others can be worn by any vocation.
List of All Vocations and Classes
In addition to your character, Pawns can be equipped with armors to help them fight for you. Consider giving them armor with effects that complement their role in your team. This goes for both your main pawn and rented pawns.
Similar to weapons, armor is mainly purchased from Shops. Different vendors can offer different pieces of armor, so make sure to check them for armor you want.
Armors can be upgraded up to three times in the Blacksmith to improve their defenses and effects. If you're having trouble surviving enemies, consider upgrading your armor before facing those enemies again.
Improving your survivability can save time so you'll worry less about losing your progress if you die. Gold isn't too difficult to get in the game, and spending them to raise your defenses is a worthwhile investment. Getting rings is also recommended since these grant additional effects.
