Best Early Game Sword

Almace	Strength: 162 Magick: 80 Slash Strength: 100 Strike Strength: 0 Knockdown Power: 140
	Element: Ice +120% Debilitations: None

The Almace is one of the best Swords you can get in the early game thanks to its high strength and Ice element. It can be purchased as soon as you reach Checkpoint Rest Town, but if you want to save gold, the Silver Rapier can be obtained earlier and for free.

Best Midgame Sword

Silver Cinquedea	Strength: 235 Magick: 0 Slash Strength: 100 Strike Strength: 0 Knockdown Power: 212
	Element: None Debilitations: None

The Silver Cinquedea offers high strength and knockdown and can be used until you get endgame Swords.

Best Sword Overall

	Element: None Debilitations: None

The Dragon's Dogma has the best stats among all the Swords in the game. However, it's only available in the postgame. Consider getting the Stalwart Sword too as it's the strongest sword before that point.

What Are Swords?

Fighter-Specific Weapon

Swords are only available on characters with the Fighter Vocation, meaning you won't be able to equip it on other characters with different vocations. You can use swords with a Shield to have a fully balanced loadout.

Pawns with the Fighter Vocations can equip swords in the game. You can give them a better one to increase their offensive capabilities in a battle!

Swords are offensive weapons that provide more Strength and Slash Strength for a Fighter. In exchange, it gives less Knockdown Power compared to shields and doesn't give any Strike Strength as it is a sharp weapon.
