How to Start The Ornate Box

Speak to Sven in the Merchant Quarter

Dragon

Meet Sven in the Merchant Quarter after lying for him during the Seat of the Sovran quest. It's important that you Lie when Norman asks if you've seen Sven to make this quest available.

Note: This quest becomes unavailable after completing the Feast of Deception quest.

Sven can be found near the merchant stalls below the fountain in the Merchant Quarter of Vernworth.

How to Complete The Ornate Box

  1. Get the Ornate Box and Give it to Sven
  2. Receive Recompense From Sven in a Few Days' Time

Get the Ornate Box and Give it to Sven

Dragon

Buy the Ornate Box from Auriol for 1000 Gold and give it to Sven afterwards. You can receive a 20% discount (200 Gold off!) if you've finished the Medicament Predicament quest, as the quest giver in that quest is Auriol's daughter!

Giving Sven the box rather than giving him 1000 gold is the better choice as you can get the box at a discounted price, and it has better rewards.

Receive Recompense From Sven in a Few Days' Time

Whichever choice you went with, drop by the fountain to meet Sven and receive your recompense over the following days. You'll have to meet him several times until you get all your Gold back to conclude the side quest.

Your pawns will also remind you to check back on Sven every time the quest advances, so make sure to pay attention to what they say!

Should you Give Sven the Ornate Box or Gold?

Give the Ornate Box for Better Rewards

There are a few advantages of giving the Ornate Box yourself. You will get the following:

  1. A 200 Gold discount off the Ornate Box if you've completed Medicament Predicament
  2. A Jasper
  3. A Ring of Accrual
