Checkpoint Rest Town is located to the west of Vernworth and can be traveled to by Oxcart in Dragon's Dogma 2 (DD2). Read on to learn how to get to Checkpoint Rest Town, how to open the gate to Battahl, how to fast travel there via Oxcart or Portcrystal, as well as a full map and all locations.

How to Open Checkpoint Rest Town Gate

Reach Nation of the Lambent Flame Main Quest

Dragon

At the end of the Feast of Deception main quest, you will obtain the Entry Permit you need to pass through the gate in Checkpoint Rest Town, which leads down to Battahl. This leads to the next quest: Nation of the Lambent Flame.

Purchase a Beastren Mask

Dragon

Purchase a Beastren Mask at Ibrahim's Scrap Store for 8700G. You will need this mask to ensure safe passage down into the region of Battahl, the nation of Beastren. When you have the mask, talk to the guard at the gate and he will let you through.

Note: You do not need to purchase this mask if your character is already a Beastren.

Checkpoint Rest Town Location

From Vernworth, head out west and follow the main path all the way till you reach Checkpoint Rest Town at the very end.

Checkpoint Rest Town does not have a Portcrystal so if you wish to return to this town, you will need to fast travel by taking the Oxcart from Vernworth or by putting down your own Portcrystal.

I snuck into Battahl by jumping into one of the ox carts as they passed through the gate. Worked beautfully

I bought the mask, equipped it and talked to the guard. Still wouldn't let me through.
