A Wight is a priest's spirit that still holds a grudge, eventually becoming a monster. It hides in darkness, casting powerful spells in succession from the sky. It makes upfront fights difficulty by wielding a huge amount of magick.

How to Beat Wight

How to Beat Wight

Use the Empyrean Spell to Knock it Down

Since the Wight's weakness is the Holy element, you can cast down Empyrean to conjure a huge orb of light to knock it down. This is a weapon skill that is accessible only to Mages.

For Mages with a high vocation rank, they can opt to use the High Empyrean skill, which is a more powerful version of the spell.

Empyrean Weapon Skill and How to Unlock

Attack While it is Incanting Spells

When you see the Wight holding a light mystical flame in its hand, it means it is incanting spells. This gives you an opportunity to attack it, as the Wight will completely remain stationary while it is charging up its spells.

Stay Away from the Black Mist

Throughout the fight, a Black Mist will sometimes appear on the ground, which is an AoE (Area of Effect) skill that will explode after a short amount of time.

Try to stay out of its vicinity once you see it forming up to avoid getting caught in the blast as it can knock you back a few feet away, or worse, it can toss you over the side of cliffs or bridges, causing you to fall to your death.

Avoid the Purple Orbs

The Wight will leap up in the air and conjure several magical purple orbs around it that will drop on the ground and explode. When this happens, simply keep your distance until the Wight hovers back to the ground.

Steer Clear of Tornadoes

The Tornado is probably the Wight's deadliest move, as it can toss you several feet away if you get caught in it, causing you to lose about a quarter of your health. If you still have stamina, try to dash away from it to avoid falling prey to this fatal attack.

Cast Out Healing Spells to Damage Them

Dragon

Wights are also vulnerable to healing spells such as Anodyne. If you're a Mage or have one in your party, cast one out and try to lure them into the area of effect of the spell to gradually reduce the health of the Wight.

Wight Locations
