How to Unlock The Starter Vocations

Starter vocations like the Fighter, Mage, Thief, and Archer are unlocked at the start of the game. At character creation, you will be asked to choose a starting role for your Arisen from the aformentioned starter vocations.

You will then need to pay for the three other starter vocation in case you want to switch vocations after creating your character.

How to Unlock Warrior and Sorcerer

The two advanced vocations, the Warrior and the Sorcerer, are unlocked by completing the quest Vocation Frustration. The quest will task you to get a greatsword and archistaff which are both found in Trevo Mine. The entrance of the cave is found east of Vernworth.

How to Unlock the Mystic Spearhand

Mystic Spearhand Vocation Guide

Option 1: Talk to Sigurd During the Readveant of Calamity Quest

After progressing a bit into the story, trigger the Readveant of Calamity quest by returning to Melve via the Oxcart station in Vernworth. Reaching Melve will trigger a dragon attack. Fight the dragon until it flies off and look for Sigurd nearby who has a spear-like weapon.

Talk to Sigurd and choose to ask about his manner of fighting. Doing so will unlock the Mystic Spearhand vocation after the dialogue.

Change to the Mystic Spearhand vocation by going to a Vocation Guild and acquiring the vocation for 200 DCP.

Readvent of Calamity Walkthrough

Option 2: Talk to Sigurd at the Entrance of Dragonsbreath Tower

In case you missed the quest above and you did not return to Melve, you can unlock the Mystic Spearhand Vocation by talking to Sigurd at the entrance of Dragonsbreath Tower. The tower is located to the south of the Enoa Battahl Forest. The general vicinity of the area is to the south-west of the entire world map.

This method would take longer than the quest above so do that when you can!

How to Unlock the Trickster

Trickster Vocation Guide

Option 1: Talk to Luz at the Reverent Shrine

The Trickster Vocation is obtained after talking to Luz at the Reverent Shrine. The shrine is located to the east of the Enoa Battahl Forest. The general vicinity of the area is to the West of the entire world map.

Players must choose to pay 50 Gold to unlock the Trickster Vocation. You can then change to the Trickster vocation by going to a Vocation Guild and acquiring the vocation for 200 DCP.

Option 2: Can Be Unlocked in the Flickering Shadows Quest

If you're following the Flickering Shadows Quest, it will task you to talk to Luz. She will ask you a few things, and answer with "Tell me the godsway's secret".

After this dialogue, the Trickster Vocation will be unlocked. Note that you do not need to unlock this quest to get the Trickster Vocation from Luz - you can just go straight to Reverent Shrine and unlock the vocation even if the quest is not active.

How to Unlock the Magick Archer

Magick Archer Vocation Guide

Complete the Quest: Put a Spring in Thy Step

The Magick Archer vocation is unlocked after finishing the quest Put a Spring in Thy Step found at the Windwalker's Home west of the Volcanic Island Camp. Simply talk to Gautstafr and complete the unlocked quest. Do note that you have to do this quest in the day or else the home will not be accessible due to high tide at night.

Proceed on finishing the quest by giving him the three (3) required wildflowers and protect him until he reaches Geyser Hamlet in the Volcanic Island Camp. At this point, Cliodhna will reveal herself and thank you for escorting her husband and will teach you her knowledge about Magick Archery.

How to Unlock the Warfarer

Warfarer Vocation Guide

Complete the Quest: The Sotted Sage

The Warfarer vocation, often mistaken as Wayfarer, is unlocked after finishing the quest The Sotted Sage in the Volcanic Island Camp. If you've completed the quest Put a Spring in Thy Step to get the Magick Archer vocation, you should be in the vicinity of this quest.

Simply head up the wooden ramps and up a ladder to find Lamond who will give you the quest regardless of your dialogue choice. Proceed on finishing the quest by giving him 3 Newt Liqueur and he will grant you access to the Warfarer vocation. Speak to Lamond again to get the Grandmaster's Path, the Maister's teaching for the Warfarer vocation.

How Many Vocations and Classes?

You Can Unlock 10 Vocations and Classes

Dragon

You can unlock 10 Vocations for the Arisen. Of the 10 vocations, only 6 will be available for Pawns.

Four Starter Vocations at the Start

Dragon

At the beginning of the game, there will be four Starter Vocations for you to choose from: Fighter, Thief, Mage, and Archer. You can select among these vocations immediately after character creation.
