Shepherd of the Pawns is a post game quest in Dragon's Dogma 2 (DD2). Read our guide for a walkthrough on how to start Shepherd of the Pawns, as well as the rewards and unlock conditions.

Make your way to the Excavation Site and defeat the Golem there. After defeating the monster, Henrique will appear and ask for your help which starts the quest.
This quest becomes available after completing Halls of the First Dawn, which is one of the two starting post game quests available after arriving at the Unmoored World.
Halls of the First Dawn Walkthrough
Follow Henrique, and he'll take you to where the others are being kept. He needs help evacuating the inmates that are still locked in their cells, refusing to evacuate, and will give you the Overseers' Lodge Key .
The inmates are located in the northwestern part of the Excavation Site and northwest from where you fought the Golem. Make your way there and convince them to evacuate.
Head east from the inmates location and use the Overseers' Lodge Key to open the locked door in this area and retrieve the Diminished Godsway.
Make your way back to Henrique and give him the Diminished Godsway, and he'll evacuate the area, which completes the quest.
Although not required, there's a red beacon nearby where you can defeat a lesser dragon.
We recommend resolving the red beacon while you're near the location to avoid going back here once you're required to resolve all the red beacons during A Scholarly Pursuit.
