How to Unlock Advanced Vocations

Complete Vocation Frustration

Dragon

Vocation Frustration is a side quest given by Klaus at the Vernworth Vocation Guild. After viewing vocations at the guild for the first time, Klaus will inform you of what is needed to unlock this vocation.

  1. Talk to Roderick at Roderick's Smithy located in the plaza just north of the Vocation Guild to get word of goblins to the east.
  2. Find the Trevo Mine and find the chests containing the Two-Hander greatsword and Grievous Horns archistaff. Clearing this mine of goblins also contributes to Brant's Monster Culling quest.
  3. Return the two requested weapons to Klaus.

Giving each requested weapon will individually unlock their respective vocation for purchase. You can return or find a similar weapon type elsewhere to unlock the remaining vocation.

Warriors are the stronger variant of the Fighter vocation, wielding Greatswords or Hammers as their main weapons. Warriors deal heavy damage to enemies, and can inflict even more damage when they charging their weapons.

This vocation emphasizes raw strength and big bursts of damage. However, they can be slow to work with. It is best to pair them with heavy armor so that they can tank hits while they attack.

Sorcerers have access to stronger spells than Mages, but the spells take longer to cast.

Additionally, Sorcerers also gain a wider range of support skills, providing players with more options to support their Pawns or vice versa, should they change a Pawn's vocation to a sorcerer.

What are Advanced Vocations?

Advanced Variations of Starter Vocations

Advanced Vocations heavily focus on their intended roles, with the Warrior vocation focusing more on melee attacks, sacrificing some of the defensive capabilities that the Fighter has, while the Sorcerer receives more powerful spells at the cost of the health-restoring spell the Mage has.

Unlike Starter Roles, Advanced Vocations are unlocked for purchase a bit later in the early game once you fulfill Klaus's side quest Vocation Frustration at the Vernworth Vocation Guild.
