How to Beat The Dragon

How to Beat the The Dragon

Focus on its Head

Even with the Dragon's intimidating size, do not be afraid! Focus on dealing damage around its head since the area between its horns is considered a weak spot.

If you are playing a melee vocation, look to scale its forelegs and hack away between its horns.

If you are playing a ranged vocation, on the other hand, position yourself near the Dragon to avoid its breath of fire!

Punish its Fire Breath

If the Dragon uses its fire breath attack, it gives you room to punish due to the time it takes to finish. If you are playing a melee class, this is an opportune time to mount its neck! However, a ranged vocation can wind up with multiple high-damage attacks.

Avoid its Sure-Hit Consecutive Spells

The Dragon mainly uses a plethora of fire spells. However, its most dangerous spell is the one that stun-locks you with consecutive explosions that will most likely lead to your death. Do not get greedy, run if you see the Dragon standing on its hind legs !

Hitch a Ride on its Flight

After dealing some damage to the Dragon, it will take flight and circle the arena for a significant amount of time. To punish this, mount the Dragon since this will be the opportune time to deal damage since it will not attack for a while.

Furthermore, you will also see a platform that hosts a large ballista; take the risk and leap for it for a high reward!

Shoot the Ballista

If you can land on the platform, consider using the ballista to shoot the Dragon out of its course. Successfully doing so will befell the Dragon early and open up its glowing heart!

Pierce its Heart

After doing a set amount of damage or successfully using the ballista, the Dragon will topple over and reveal its massive weak spot, its glowing heart! Hitting this weak spot will deal ludicrous damage and likely finish the fight then and there.

For an added note, pressing the strong attack will prompt a short animation for the melee vocations, dealing a chunk of damage after finishing!

How to Fight the Dragon

Attack the Dragon When Prompted

Dragon
After The Guardian Gigantus quest, Phaesus will successfully summon the Royce Dragon to end the cycle of The Dragon's Dogma. However, they will swiftly meet the Dragon's ire.

The Dragon, while holding your beloved, will then prompt you to choose between leaving the area or fighting against him. Choose to attack the Dragon so that it may accompany you to the arena of your momentous battle
