Welcome to Battahl is a side quest in Dragon's Dogma 2 (DD2). Read our guide for a walkthrough on how to start the Welcome to Battahl side quest, what happens if you lose against Taleef, as well as the rewards and unlock conditions.

This short side quest starts immediately after entering the Mercantile Ward in Bakbattahl after getting access to the city during the Nation of Lambent Flame Main Quest.
Head to the Wanderer's Haven tavern and an NPC named Roger will approach you and automatically start this side quest.

After the cutscene, Roger will send out his three ruffians to challenge you to a fight.
Deal enough damage to any of his thugs, and a short cutscene will play where a sellsword named Raghnall will step in to help even out the odds.
After a short cutscene, Roger will agree to Raghnall's request for a fair fight. You'll then need to defeat Taleef in a 1-on-1 fight.
Taleef is a Warrior and can deal a lot of damage, though his attacks are slow and easy to dodge. Avoid his wide sword swings and only attack him after he makes an attack.
Once you deal enough damage, Roger will accept your victory, and the quest ends.
Losing the fight against Taleef will still allow you to complete this side quest, but you'll only get 2800 XP and won't get the Fruit Wine reward. Additionally, you'll also loose 3000 Gold due to Raghnall making a bet against Roger that you'd win.
Try to win the fight since you can use the Fruit Wine reward for a later side quest called The Sotted Sage, which unlocks the Warfarer vocation.
