How to Get to Bakbattahl
Bakbattahl is a Beastren town located south of Checkpoint Rest Town.
In order to reach Bakbattahl, progress through the main quest until you receive the quest Nation of the Lambent Flame. Find a way past the gate at Checkpoint Rest Town, then continue down south along the main road until you reach Bakbattahl.

Oxcart Travel Unlocked Via Side Quest
Oxcarts that go to Bakbattahl are not available until you progress through the side quest Mercy Among Thieves, so you will need to travel all the way to Bakbattahl for the first time on foot.

No Portcrystal at Bakbattahl
There is no Bakbattahl Portcrystal. However, you can put down your own Portcrystal anywhere in town, so that you have an easy fast travel method to Bakbattahl.
Bakbattahl is one of the best portcrystal placements on the map, since you'll be revisiting this area a lot. We highly recommend placing a Portcrystal here, somewhere near the house that you can buy.

Finding Maurits at Bakbattahl is essential for finishing the Sphinx's Riddle of Futility. You can find Maurits at the Mural Byway in Bakbattahl.

Purchase Hair Dye
Hair dye can be bought from Alexia at the pawn guild in Bakbattahl. Each color of dye costs 500 Rift Crystals (RC). Hair dye can only be used to change the color of your hair.
In order to use the hair dye, bring it to Mettefere's Cosmetics at the center of the town.

Obtain Quince Crafting Material
Quince, which can be found abundantly in the wilds of the Battahl area, is required to complete the Short-Sighted Ambition side quest. Quince is also used to recover health, craft Lantern Oil for your lantern, and craft recovery items like Salubrious Draught.

Travel to Bay Wayside Shrine
From Bakbattahl, you can travel northward along the coast and find Bay Wayside Shrine, where the Dragonforged is located. From this NPC, you can enhance equipment even further and purchase unique items using Wyrmslife Crystals.
