Lesser Dragon Locations

Melve

Map Image Overworld Image

There is a chance for a Lesser Dragon to attack the village of Melve after the Seat of the Sovran quest and one of Brant's quests. The Lesser Dragon will quickly flee the scene after losing a health bar, so you cannot get Wyrmslife Crystal from it!

However, the Lesser Dragon will not spawn if you have finished the Feast of Deception quest, so keep that in mind if you want to get the Fighter Vocation Maister Teaching!

How to Beat the Lesser Dragon

How to Beat the Lesser Dragon

Destroy its Cysts

Lesser Dragons' bodies are covered with pus-filled cysts that serve as their weak spots. There are a total of five cysts that you can break, which results in the Lesser Dragon toppling over.

If you succeed in destroying five, the Lesser Dragon will take more damage from your attacks. Optimally, you can take 1-2 whole health bars during this state!

Freeze to Stay in Place

Being the Lesser Dragon's natural weakness, ice spells are effective on it. Aside from dealing more damage, ice spells such as High Hagol and High Frigor freeze the Lesser Dragon dead in its tracks. While frozen, it is significantly easier to destroy the cysts!

Stay Away From the Acid Pool

Instead of a heart, the Lesser Dragon will have an open chest cavity that spews acidic liquid. This acid proves hazardous to the Arisen.

The Lesser Dragon has an attack where it will make a pool of acid, causing those that stand in it to lose Health and their Loss Gauge continuously !

You can avoid this by waiting for it to dissipate or jumping to the side of its arms!

Avoid the Stamina Draining Roar

When you aim to destroy the Lesser Dragon's cysts, you will have limited time until the Lesser Dragon roars. This roar repels anyone mounting and drains you of your stamina.

After doing the shout, the cysts will regenerate! The Lesser Dragon will stand on its hind legs and charge this up so you have ample time to fall back.
