How to Get Out of Jail

Dragon

A guide on how to get out of jail in Dragon's Dogma 2 (DD2). You can get out of jail by either bribing a passing guard or using Gaol keys. Read on to learn how to get out of jail, including the possible advantages and disadvantages of being sent to the Gaol!!

How to Get Out of Jail

Bribe the Passing Guard

While serving your time, guards often pass through your jail cell to check on you. Approach and hail the guards to prompt a bribe.

You will have to pay a decent sum of gold that scales on your current amount of money to get out, so this method is highly discouraged unless you are knee-deep in gold.

Use a Gaol Key

When you have a Gaol Key, you can unlock the door to your jail cell. Even if the guards see you, the guards will not apprehend you for leaving your cell. If you have an extra Gaol Key, you can unlock the Gaol's backdoor.

If you do not have an extra Gaol Key, you must take a stealthy approach by going to the front entrance. You will enter restricted grounds through this method, so time your sprint when you are sure that no guards see you.

Break the Pot to Get a Makeshift Goal Key

If there is a pot present in your jail cell, you can break the pot either inside your cell by throwing or attacking it to get a Makeshift Gaol Key.

Break the Crumbling Wall

Every jail cell will have walls that look like they are on the verge of collapsing. Attack the crumbling walls to open a new passage and escape the Gaol.

Advantages of Being Jailed

Get Some Loot

When you try and escape the Gaol, you will come across some loot, though commonly of questionable quality. If you are brave and stealthy, you can even get some loot inside the guard's barracks.

Discover New Areas

Leaving jail through different passages or the backdoor can lead to newly discovered areas, which lets you uncover more of the city.

Disadvantages of Being Jailed

No Major Consequences

Going to jail gives no repercussions that may affect your experience while playing. You can walk out of your jail cell; there will be no infamy level with the corresponding city. Time also does not pass when you get arrested.

However, attacking romanceable NPCs and Vocation Maisters may lower their affinity towards you, so pick your victims!
