Waterfall Cave Entrance Location

East of Borderwatch Outpost

The Waterfall Cave is located east of the Borderwatch Outpost, which was the first settlement that you visited during the Tale's Beginning quest. There are two entrances leading to the cave. You can follow either the path north of the outpost or east of the outpost to get there.

Recommended Level is 20

It is recommended that your Arisen and pawns should be at least Level 20 before venturing forth the Waterfall Cave, as the monsters dwelling within it are challenging and difficult.

Waterfall Cave Guide

1	For this walkthrough of the Waterfall Cave, we'll be using the entrance along the eastern path of the Borderwatch Outpost. Go through the cave entrance, just south of a nearby waterfall.
2	Inside the cave you'll run into lizardmen known as Saurians, so be prepared to fight them as you follow the path down the cave.
3	Once you arrive at a river, climb up the ledge near the destroyed boat and enter the small cave opening.
4	Jump down the small gap and follow the eastern path. Be careful of giant slime monsters as you venture deep as these can apply the Drench status condition if ever they touch you.
5	As you keep heading east, you'll come across the lair of the Chimera boss. You can choose to ignore it and continue exploring the cave or kill it.
6	Keep going east, past the Chimera's lair and go through the first narrow path that you'll see. Towards the end of the path, there should be a treasure chest containing a Ferrystone.
7	Now run south until you see another cavern filled with skeleton warriors. Defeat them and open the chest to get 4,510 Gold.
8	Keep going east again until you reach some ores. Climb up the ledges to get to the second floor of the Waterfall Cave.
9	In a room to the west, you'll find an alchemy room with spell books on the desk and inside the chest. Take note that opening this chest summons the Lich boss!
10	To exit the cave, go west of the alchemy room and interact with the wooden ladder to drop it down. Climb down the ladder to go back to the first floor.
11	At this point, you should have already uncovered the map of the first floor, so navigate your way until you reach northern area of the cave until you see a lone path that leads outside of the Waterfall Cave.

2nd Floor of the Cave

The location of the ladder is at the 2nd floor of the Waterfall Cave. After entering the cave, head to the southeasternmost area and climb up the ledges to get to the second floor.

After that, keep heading west past the Alchemy Room to reach the ladder. Simply approach it and interact with it to unfold the ladder.

Waterfall Cave Bosses

Chimera

The Chimera is quick and agile, relying on movement and speed to combat its foes. Having a full party of pawns and a Mage to provide healing should help ease up the battle for you.

After you defeat Chimera, you can examine its body to obtain Freakish Mane.

Lich

The Lich will spawn right after you open the chest that contains the spell books. The best way to deal with is to use ranged attacks such as casting spells or firing arrows at it, since it will mostly be levitating in the air.

Defeating the Lich rewards you with the following item drops:

• Eminent Coat
• Black Crystal
• Harspud
• 150 RC

Ferrystone

There is a Ferrystone inside a treasure chest on the northeast corner of the first floor in the Waterfall Cave.

How to Get Ferrystones

Gold (4,510)

Found inside the room filled with skeleton warriors on the first floor of the cave. Open the chest to obtain 4,510 Gold.

Spell Books

Fulgurous Lord, Threshing Blaze, Winter's Path, Howling Blizzard, and Nation's Death Knell spell books can be found in an alchemy room on the second floor of the cave. You can find this room immediately after climbing the ledges near the ore rocks that lead to the 2nd floor.
