How to Get to Excavation Site and Agamen Ruins

Excavation Site of Agamen Ruins can be reached via main quest progression or by passing through Drabnir's Grotto in Dragon's Dogma 2 (DD2). Read on to learn how to get to the Excavation Site and Agamen Ruins, all fast travel points, all main quests, side quests, shops, and all items sold.

Reach The Guardian Gigantus Main Quest

To enter the Excavation Site, you will need to progress through the main quest The Guardian Gigantus.

Note that entry into Agamen Volcanic Island using this method requires you to obtain the Godsbane from the previous quest A New Godsway, which allows you to open the Flamebearer Palace Spellseal Door south of Bakbattahl.

Pass Under Destroyed Bridge

After disabling the Gigantus during the quest, this bridge will be destroyed. You can still pass under the bridge to make your way back and forth from Volcanic Island Camp and Excavation Site.

Pass Through Drabnir's Grotto

There is a back entrance into Agamen Volcanic Island which does not require the Godsbane nor main quest progress: You may choose to head south of Bakbattahl to a cave called Drabnir's Grotto.

Passing through Drabnir's Grotto will take you to Agamen Volcanic Island, and eventually to the Excavation Site. However, the journey will be even tougher than going the regular route so make sure you're prepared for it.

Set Down a Portable Portcrystal

Portcrystal

Excavation Site does not have its own Portcrystal but you can place your own portable Portcrystal anywhere in the area so you can teleport back with a Ferrystone any time you desire.

Unmoored World Portcrystal

At the endgame, once the world has been Unmoored, Agamen Volcanic Island will have its own Portcrystal. Although not exactly close to the Excavation Site, it is the closest one without having to put down your own portable Portcrystal.

No Oxcart Travel

You cannot travel to Excavation Site via oxcart, as no oxcarts travel this path. You will need to either travel on foot from Bakbattahl or set down your own portcrystal there.
