Moniker Meaning

Alternate Names for a Character

Monikers are a set of preset alternative names that are chosen along with a character's name that is exclusively used for the online features in Dragon's Dogma 2. Names deemed inappropriate by the game's filter will be replaced by their Moniker instead.

Monikers do not affect the story and dialogue in the game, as the main character will usually be called the “Arisen,” regardless.

Moniker Difference From Name

Monikers Replace Inappropriate Names

Dragon
While each playable Arisen and Pawn can be freely given any name, monikers are used to filter out inappropriate names in the online features of the game, such as the summonable pawns' names.

Names and Monikers Do Not Affect Dialogue

Names and Monikers do not affect the story or the game's dialogue since players and their pawns are generally called “Arisen” and “Pawns”, respectively.
