Introducing Talos, the bronze giant from the legends. Rising from the sea, its massive frame can walk over valleys with ease. Just like a divine punishment, it mercilessly brings chaos to the land.

How to Beat Talos

To beat Talos, you must first engage with it. To avoid missing the fight with Talos, follow the waypoint of The Guardian Gigantus to access the Spellseal Door. After that, just follow the path yet again to face Talos.

How to Beat the Talos

Destroy the Stakes Protruding its Body

Talos is nigh impervious to most forms of damage dealt to it. To damage Talos, destroy the stakes spread across its body. There are eight stakes protruding from Talos' body that you have to remove before Talos falls.

Stake Locations
1. Right Heel
2. Left Thigh
3. Chest
4. Left Bicep
5. Right Shoulder
6. Back
7. Right Eye
8. Right Hand

Trace Your Steps to Get Fallen Stakes

After the battle, the stakes will fall to the ground! Retrace your steps from where you defeated Talos up to the bay to get a total of eight Wakestone Shards!

Use Explosive or Blunt Damage

Talos' stakes are vulnerable to both Blunt and Explosive damage. For example, the Thief's Powder Charge destroys a stake with 2-3 explosions! Look to try the Explosive Arrow, Meteoron, and a Warrior equipped with a Hammer!

Best Hammers

Bring Stamina Curatives

If you are using a melee vocation such as the Thief and Warrior, you must scale Talos to reach its stakes.

Make sure to bring Stamina Curatives and use them while climbing or risk having to fall to a likely death. If you are lucky, your pawns will catch you when you fall.

Best Healing Items and Curatives List

Wait for the the Ballista Shot

As Talos pushes on, you will reach an area where soldiers will help you to deal damage. There is a particular scene where a ballista shoots at Talos, causing it and the stone bridge to fall. Talos will be out of commission for a while, so take advantage of the fall!

Furthermore, you can rush forward to get to a ballista and shoot it yourself!

Rest at Its Shoulders and Waist

While climbing, you might notice that certain spots in Talos' body protrude just enough to serve as platforms.

Look to position yourself near these places so that when you are running low on stamina, you can ungrab and catch your breath.

Reach Talos' Head by Climbing

To reach Talos' head, climb from one of its legs, then go up to its waist. After reaching the waist, rest to recuperate the stamina lost. Continue climbing until you reach its shoulders to rest, then quickly to its head. You can also use the terrain to get a head start!

How to Skip Talos

Proceed Through Drabnir Grotto

Dragon
To skip the fight against Talos, get to the waypoint by proceeding through Drabnir Grotto, which is located just south of Bakbattahl. Doing so will show cutscenes of Phaeus' soldiers being pursued by Talos until it eventually falls into lava.

How to Clear Drabnir's Grotto

Get its Loot Through This Path

While you may not have defeated Talos yourself, you can still get his drops. Revisit the path he goes through to find stakes scattered on the battlefield against the soldiers to get some Wakestone Shards!
