After the First Defense of Leyndell, Kristoff earned the hero's honor of Erdtree Burial for the feat of capturing Godefroy the Grafted.

Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff's Spirit Ashes are obtained as a reward for defeating the Ancient Hero of Zamor in the Sainted Hero's Grave in the Altus Plateau.

The entrance of the Sainted Hero's Grave is guarded by a Black Knife Assassin which you need to defeat to access the catacombs.

How to Use Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff

A Balanced Aggresive Tank

Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff is among the tankiest of the spirit ashes in the game, even rivalling Lhutel the Headless in sheer bulk and health when fully upgraded.

Unlike Lhutel, Kristoff is more aggressive and will actively attack bosses to hold agro either with his Partisan or with the Thunderbolt skill.

Best Used Against Aggressive Bosses

Kristoff is one of the few spirit ashes that can guard break, which he will pull off reliably once he starts bracing with his greatshield.

This makes him a great summon against very aggressive bosses such as Malenia, Blade of Miquella and Radagon of the Golden Order. Not only is he tanky enough to withstand their powerful attacks, he can guard break with a powerful counterattack.

Uses Spells Effective Against Human-Sized Bosses

Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff also uses the Rejection incantation frequently. While this spell doesn't do damage, it can stagger human-sized bosses.

Kristoff can stagger bosses like the Leonine Misbegotten, Misbegotten Crusader, and Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All Knowing with this spell and even interrupt their attacks.

Effective Against Bosses Weak to Lightning

While mostly a tank, Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff can also deal respectable damage against bosses weak to lightning. Apart from using the powerful Thunderbolt Skill, he can also use a unique version of the Lightning Slash skill that he can use with his Partisan which buffs his weapons with lightning damage.

This makes him very effective against bosses like Decaying Ekzykes and the Abductor Virgins, as well as any boss that lacks a resistance to lightning such as the Fire Giant.
