How to Open Ancestral Chamber Locked Door

Let Skeleton Lord Break the Lock

Skeleton Lord Breaks the Lock
Make sure to enter the Ancestral Chamber at night, which spawns a Skeleton Lord on the other side of the locked door. Aggro the Skeleton Lord, ideally with a bow and arrow, until it destroys the wooden bar locking the gate.

Note that this may take a while to achieve, as the Skeleton Lord sometimes won't attack the door. Try getting close or attacking it to coax it to attack the locked door.

Save and Reload Game if Skeleton Lord Doesn't Appear

Save and return to the title screen, then reload your save file to make the Skeleton Lord appear, again making sure that it is night time.

How to Get to Ancestral Chamber

Head northwest from Vernworth along the main path, taking the route that leads to Sacred Arbor. The Ancestral Chamber should be to the east of Sacred Arbor.

Reached via A Trial of Archery Quest

The Ancestral Chamber can be reached naturally by progressing through the A Trial of Archery side quest given by the elven NPC Glyndwyr.
