How to Beat the Garm

How to Beat the Garm

Counter its Telegraphed Lunges

When you fight a Garm, its behavior as a hunter will prompt it to get space before attacking you. The Garm will likely step back and then quickly lunge at you. Parrying or deflecting at the right time will give you ample time to dish out damage!

The Garm often repeats this up to three times in certain conditions, so look to punish these openings!

Dodge the Chomp Grab

With its sizable maw, the Garm can easily trap you within its jaws and chew you out. The Garm will slowly walk towards you, then quickly bite at you.

If you do not dodge in time, you will be in its jaws for a while. Remember, you cannot parry or deflect grabs, so dodge appropriately.

Avoid Climbing the Garm

While climbing a large canine is tempting, doing so against the Garm will only harm you. A Garm will quickly drain your stamina while clinging to it since its erratic movement keeps you unstable.

Also, your pawns will get knocked away by its kicking. The Arisen will also get knocked away if they near the hind legs!

Burst Damage is Effective

The Garm, despite having a single health bar, has a surprisingly tough hide, especially from consecutive attacks. At first, it seems like elemental damage does not increase the damage dealt.

However, burst damage from weapon skills such as the Thief's Powder Charge and the Warrior's Mountain Breaker is effective at knocking it down and dealing significant damage!
