Update Ver. 2.01 Patch Notes

Capcom has released Update Ver. 2.01 for Dragon’s Dogma 2 across all platforms, introducing a range of new features, including the highly requested Casual Mode.

In addition to Casual Mode, the update brings vocation balance adjustments, performance improvements, and numerous bug fixes to enhance overall gameplay.

Casual Mode

Dragon
Casual Mode is designed for players who want a more relaxed experience without altering core gameplay.

Key features include:

  • Lower inn fees and Ferrystone prices.
  • Less chance for weight carried to become "Heavy" or "Very Heavy."
  • Reduced Stamina consumption when dashing outside of battle.
  • Loss gauge does not increase after selecting "Load from Last Save" following death.
  • Pawns recover from dragonsplague without triggering a "devastating calamity," even at terminal stages.

Players can enable Casual Mode mid-game via the Game Settings section in the Options menu. Once activated, you cannot switch back to Normal Mode, and some trophies or achievements may be unavailable while playing in this mode.

PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam

  • Added a Portcrystal to Bakbattahl.
  • Added "Sovran's Crown," "Sovran's Plate," and "Sovran's Greaves" to the Dragonforged trade list.
  • Added variations to Pawns' idle animations and new animations when Pawns and the Arisen start dashing.
  • Added animation for the Arisen riding larger flying enemies.
  • Main Pawn can now be revived infinitely at Forgotten Riftstones.
  • Added Polski (Polish) under Display Language in Options.
  • Reduced CPU overload and frequency of crashes.
  • Added RC cap of 3000 for hiring Pawns of Level 51+ regardless of level difference.

Adjustments to Vocations

  • Fighter: Increased Strength for all weapons, improved stagger and skill timings, better target lock adjustments.
  • Warrior: Adjusted input durations and timings for attacks, increased Strength for specific skills.
  • Archer: Reduced charge times, improved damage scaling, extended skill timings.
  • Mage: Increased duration, distance, and power of multiple skills, including healing and offensive magicks.
  • Thief: Adjusted Stamina consumption for "Blades of the Pyre."
  • Mystic Spearhand: Increased Strength and Knockdown Power for "Seching Blade."

Modifications and Fixes

  • Player: Fixed camera issues, Stamina recovery, clipping, decoy/Trickster issues, freezing issues, and environmental interactions.
  • Pawns: Fixed AI behavior, guidance, attacks, animations, and resurrection issues.
  • NPCs: Fixed freezing, display, and dialogue issues.
  • Enemies: Fixed AI, resurrection, attack, and collision issues.
  • Quests: Fixed loading, resurrection, party behavior, and object interaction bugs.
  • Gimmicks & Equipment: Fixed clipping, display, armor values, and animation issues.
  • Display & UI: Fixed shadow, filter, tattoo, skill preview, quest icon, and message icon issues.
  • Sound: Fixed Wakestone music and Riftstone sound effects.
  • Other: Fixed cutscene skips, hairstyle display, floating gathering points, and Photo Mode issues.

Steam Fixes

Fixed temporary lag when using DLSS FRAME GENERATION while exiting the Pause Menu.
Frame rates in crowded areas (like town centers) have been improved. Lower graphics settings on Steam can further enhance performance.
