Best Character Build

Xiangli Yao	Inferno Rider

Xiangli Yao and Inferno Rider are the best pairing for this difficulty to deal as much damage as possible with Xiangli Yao.

Xiangli Yao will have close to zero defenses though, so try to get extra Glacio metaphors that can bolster her defenses!

Difficulty V is when things get pretty difficult in DoIR, so if you have a built DPS character that is not part of the Trial characters please use them.

Character Upgrades

You will always have 1 Character Upgrade every run, and you can get more through Memory of Training.

To start, always go with Repository as it can charge your Forte Circuit much quicker as long as you're dealing Basic Attacks. This way, you can spam your powerful Resonance Skill to deal damage.

Afterwards, we suggest going for Tarnish and Protege as it will increase Xiangli Yao's overall DPS. Tarnish works well with Repository because Repository provides Energy and reduces Liberation cooldown. Protege on the other hand is a straight up damage increase because of the DEF ignore mechanic.

If you are able to get more upgrades, go for Reconfiguration and Pascifism last, and then general upgrades go for Resonance Liberation and Resonance Skills should be prioritized!

Best Metaphors

Concerto Characters

Character	Explanation
Verina	Verina is going to be your source of healing, considering Xiangli Yao is running a very offensive-focused echo. Make sure to get Verina as soon as you can. If you can't find a Verina, a Baizhi would suffice.
Mortefi	Mortefi is a great concerto metaphor to shred the Vibration Strength of enemies. If you cannot find Mortefi, you can use a Yuanwu instead.

Regular Metaphors

Metaphor	Explanation
Any Fusion Metaphors	Xiangli Yao plays well with Fusion Metaphors, especially the Basic Attack focused ones, or the ones that stack based on hit count. These are also needed to power up Inferno Rider.
Any Glacio Metaphors	These are taken mainly to further strengthen Inferno Rider, but can help with Xiangli Yao's defenses somewhat.
Crystal of Contradiction	This metaphor will not upgrade Inferno Rider but will help Xiangli Yao maintain his Liberation uptime. This metaphor reduces Liberation and its requirement by a whopping 50%!
Dusty Book	This metaphor ensures that you will have another pop of Xiangli Yao's Resonance Liberation at all times so that when the current one expires, you can easily refresh it immediately.
Resonance Liberation Electro Metaphors	Metaphors that increases Resonance Liberation is something Xiangli Yao will appreciate. This increases his damage after using his Liberation!

Best Tokens

You can at least get 2 Tokens every run. In general, you'd want to take the left Tokens everytime.

Adjust Your Nightmare Memes

Though Nightmare memes will significantly increase your drop rates, it will make the stage harder as well. We suggest adjusting your Nightmare memes to fit your capabilities as the main goal is to finish this stage. You can even get some Reverie Memes to give you buffs!

There is no harm and shame in adjusting your difficulty since you can always repeat this stage if you need more Illusive Specimens.

Break Pool Floaters and Boxes

Shining items in the map are breakables that provide Dream Fragments. Always make sure to destroy them to get extra Dream Fragments to use in the Store.

Always Use Xiangli Yao's Forte Skill

Xiangli Yao charges his Forte Circuit by auto-attacking, then expels all of it in a damaging move with a special Resonance Skill. This loop is going to be your main damaging move so always make sure to execute it perfectly.

Always Use His Resonance Liberation Form

Xiangli Yao excels when in the form right after using his Resonance Liberation. Because of this, make sure to get Metaphors that allow you to cast his Liberation more frequently.

Experiment With Your Own Playstyle

This is just a general guide that can help most players beat Difficulty 5 of the Depths of Illusive Realm. Since this is a rogue-lite game mode, there may be other builds that are stronger or better suited to your playstyle.

Best Echo for the Recommended Character

Characters	Recommended Echo
Xiangli Yao	Inferno Rider ・Inferno Rider provides excellent damage buffs to Xiangli Yao. Inferno Rider also deals a lot of off-field damage!

Best Echoes for Trial Characters

Characters	Recommended Echo
Yinlin	Bell-Borne Geochelone ・A more defensive option for Yinlin so you're always safe while using her Forte Circuit heavy attack. ・If you feel like your damage is not enough, use Inferno Rider instead.
Lumi	Inferno Rider ・Increases Basic Attack, the stat the Lumi scales off of. ・Lumi will depend on Inferno Rider to deal as much damage as possible, mostly because she isn't really made to become a DPS. ・If you're having trouble surviving, use a Bell-Borne Geochelone echo instead.

If the recommended Echoes above did not show up in your run, simply quit the challenge and start another run of Difficulty 5. Repeat this proccess until the suggested Echo appears.
