How to Unlock

Accessing Echoes of the Fallen requires installation of the Echoes the Fallen DLC pack and unlocking the penultimate Main Scenario Quest, Back to Their Origin.

Required Side Quests How to Access
Where There's a Will Speak to Joshua after unlocking Back to Their Origin.
Priceless Read a letter from Joshua titled Concern for Jill after completing Where There's a Will.

In order to access the DLC quests, two other key Side Quests need completing. Luckily, these quests unlock immediately after Back to Their Origin becomes available, so they're hard to miss.

Completing them allows Clive to be accompanied by both Jill Warrick and Joshua Rosfield, who play roles in the DLC scenarios.

Complete Echoes of the Fallen First!
The DLC scenarios can be tackled in any order once they're unlocked.
However, the narrative is set such that Echoes of the Fallen is best done before The Rising Tide, and both should be cleared before kicking off the endgame at Origin. Don't worry, Ultima will wait for you.
DLC Guide
1 Talk to Charon
Speak to Charon to Unlock Echoes of the Fallen
Once you've completed the required Side Quests, a telltale purple indicator should show up above Charon. Speak to her to learn about mysterious Dusk Crystals and begin your investigation.
Charon's Toll Shop Guide: Available Services
2
Track Down the Merchants in Rosaria
As per Charon's hint, pay a visit to Port Isolde and speak to the sellsword at the gate to kick off a cutscene.
Be warned: This part of the quest marks a mini-point of no return. You won't be able to take on other side quests until you've completed Echoes of the Fallen.
3
Chase the Merchants to Auldhyl
You'll need to follow the Dusk Shard merchants, first to Bewit Bridge, then to the Auldhyl Docks. Fast Travel is disabled for this section, so try summoning Ambrosia to move quicker.

Once at Auldhyl, you'll need to find the men while hostile bandits are in the area. Feel free to fight them or avoid them, then find the men in the northeast part of the town (near the bridge to Northern Rosaria). This will kick off another encounter with several bandits.

4
Corner the Merchants in Sorrowise
The merchants will run off again, this time into Sorrowise, the swampy area outside Martha's Rest. Make your way there, and speak to them for a cutscene. You'll then need to fight a herd of Akashic, including an Akashic Bighorn. The men will flee just as the massive Fallen Tower that stands over The Dim reactivates. The Sagespire has awoken once more!
5
Journey Through The Dim
You'll be able to travel on the World Map again after the cutscenes, so teleport to the Eastpool Obelisk in Rosaria and walk through The Dim. Halfway between The Dim Obelisk and Eastpool you'll encounter a group of Domoivikha, Goblin-like enemies guarding a Fallen Door that, until now, was locked. Defeat them to enter the Sagespire.

Just like during the Homecoming quest, The Dim suppresses all magic, so your Eikonic powers and most of your advanced techniques won't work. Take care while fighting the Domoivikha!

Echoes of the Fallen Part 2 Walkthrough

# Echoes of the Fallen Objectives
1
Enter the Sagespire
After entering the Sagespire, you'll want to adopt an Eikon build that can deal with crowds of smaller enemies, as your first few encounters will be against groups of Fallen Echoes, such as the spherical Patrol Unit MEG and bug-like Surveillance Unit MMG.

You'll also find a chest after your first couple encounters containing the new Escapement Bit accessory.
Best Builds for Clive
2
Defeat the Pacficiation Unit MEG
As you proceed further, you'll encounter a new mechanic - Hearthflame. This spell is cast by opponents to deal damage to any melee attacker.
Use ranged abilities like Charged Magic or Bahamut and Shiva's abilities to avoid taking unnecessary damage while Hearthflame is active.
You'll also take on the mini-boss Pacification Unit MEG, which needs staggering to take down quickly.
After defeating the MEG, equip a single-target build, because the first boss is coming up next.
How to Stagger Enemies
3
Defeat Sigma!
You'll notice the three Robed Men being attacked by the Sagespire's first guardian: The large, humanoid boss Sigma. Defeat Sigma to earn the Fallen Enforcer weapon.
Sigma Boss Tips
4
Climb the Tower
Now begins your journey up the Sagespire. Move across the walkways and up through lifts into The Lower Ring, fighting minor enemies as you go, including more Domovoi and Tower wildlife like Griffins and Wyverns.
Along the way, keep an eye out for chests containing the Fallen Belt and Nourishment Bit. These gear pieces outclass most of the gear in the base game, so they're well worth picking up.
Near the chest with the Nourishment Bit you'll see a circular lit doorway that signals the presence of a new mini-boss, so adjust your build accordingly. We recommend a build with Titanic Block and Raging Fists for defensive utility.
Titan Summon Guide and How to Unlock
5
Defeat Omicron and Keep Ascending
After entering the circular doorway you'll be introduced to Omicron a fast, flying Fallen unit with rapid attacks. Use Titanic Block to defend yourself, and counter with Rook's Gambit or Heatwave to inflict damage between staggers.
Defeating Omicron awards you the Bombardment Bit.
6
Fight Through The Landing
After beating Omicron you'll be able to continue ascending up the tower, where more Fallen Echoes await in ambush, including some powerful Fallen Unit EVL enemies. In this area you'll find chests containing the Fallen Bracelets and Disengagement Bit.
The Disengagement Bit chest stands before a door leading to the next major boss, so take the time to adjust your Eikon loadout before entering.
7
Defeat Angra Mainyu!
After entering the room you'll encounter Angra Mainyu, a large floating Ahriman-type boss. It will use Roulette to draw spinning zones across the floor. Stay out of them and counter with ranged attacks.
Defeating Angra Mainyu will award you with Aqueous Humours, a new crafting material useful for creating DLC-related weapons and gear.
Angra Mainyu Boss Tips
8
Climb Still Further
The Sagespire will react to your defeat of Angra Mainyu by raising the threat index and unlocking an elevator to the Upper Ring, which is almost completely taken over by strange living flesh. Keep fighting through the rooms and a few groups of goblins.
Along the way you'll find a chest with the Assailment Bit accessory, and a room with Asterios, a minotaur-like mini-boss. His attack pattern is similar to the Gigas and other such enemies. Defeating Asterios rewards you with the Revivement Bit, as well.
Assailment Bit
9
Fight Omicron and its Escorts
Further into the Upper Ring the tower will become even more choked with fleshy growth, and you'll encounter bomb enemies alongside goblins.
Another room contains the final mini-boss of the section, an Omicron escorted by Surveillance Unit MMCs. Defeat the MMCs first with AOE attacks to allow you to focus on dodging Omicron's attacks. From here, you can enter the final elevator to the top of the Sagespire.
10
Defeat Omega!
At the top of the Sagespire is the artificial Mothercrystal, and its guardian, Omega, the Eikonoklaste. This major boss is the equal of any Eikon you've faced so far, and has multiple phases.
A mix of defensive counters and ranged attacks will help you avoid its sweeping strikes and wide-ranging weaponry.
Defeating Omega will net you an Omega Nodule, the most powerful weapon available before New Game+! From there, you can return to Charon to report in and close out the Echoes of the Fallen DLC.

Echoes of the Fallen Boss Guides

How to Beat Sigma

Sigma is a large, humanoid boss that fights through a mix of close-range melee strikes and large AOE explosions. Its attack pattern is fairly simple and has large tells.
In Assault Mode it will use melee swings and the diving Ballistic Kick. After Assault Mode fades, it will unleash explosive AOE attacks, which should be avoided.

Tips for Beating

  • Counter Sigma when in Assault mode with Rook's Gambit, Titanic Block, or Raging Fists.
  • Dodge away with Cold Snap. If you time it correctly, you can freeze Sigma, too.
  • Dodge from Fulmination, which shoots massive balls in an array around Sigma.
  • Jump to avoid the ground shockwave from Plasmonic Pulse. You can use Wicked Wheel to get better height for a Downthrust or Upheaval clapback.

How to Beat Angra Mainyu

A large floating eyeball similar to the Ahriman, Angra Mainyu can flood the combat arena with aether and spin it around with Roulette. Make sure to stay in the rotating safe zone!
Besides Roulette, it can also surround Clive with clones using All Eyes, and rain ranged attacks with Aka Manah and Eyes on Me.
To do damage to the boss while it maneuvers, ranged Eikons like Bahamut, Phoenix and even Leviathan (if you completed The Rising Tide first) will give you the advantage.

Tips for Beating

  • Stay in Roulette's safe zones by keeping an eye on the areas that are orange while the floor spins.
  • Dodge All Eyes at the last second to take advantage of its firing delay.
  • Heatwave will counter almost all of Angra Mainyu's ranged attacks, except for the ones launched during Roulette.

How to Beat Omega

Omega, the final boss of Echoes of the Fallen, has two phases: Omega and Omega Aionios. The first phase will see laser attacks like Delta Attack and Wave Cannon, which can be dodged and countered. After the first Stagger, Omega Aionios will greatly expand the spectrum of attacks.

Omega Aionios uses a combination of wide-sweeping melee attacks during Maximum Overdrive and scatters orbs with Ion Efflux.

After another Stagger, Omega Aionios will use Pantokrator and Hyperextension to combine large AOE attacks with melee swipes.

In its final throes, Omega will use Dimensional Compression to force you to press the attack before it ends the battle for good.

Tips for Beating

  • Use Heatwave and Titanic Block liberally to counter Omega's attacks. Titanic Block can even block powerful melee lunges like High Maneuvers!
  • Impulse can help inflict damage on Omega when it backs off into the distance.
  • Unleash it all during Dimensional Compression! If you fail to defeat Omega Aionios during its countdown, Omega Control will trigger and end the fight, forcing you to start from a checkpoint.
