Obtained via the Remembrance of Messmer the Impaler

The Spear of the Impaler can be obtained by beating Messmer the Impaler and securing their Remembrance. You can then turn in the Remembrance to Enia at the Roundtable Hold to get the Spear of the Impaler.

Note: Boss Remembrances only grant you one of the two items on use. If you want to get both, make sure to duplicate the Remembrance using one of the many Walking Mausoleums found in the game.

Weapon of Messmer the Impaler. A greatspear with a warped blade in the shape of undulating flame. Remade by the forging arts of the realm of shadow, this weapon can be thrown by executing a strong attack, dashing strong attack, or mounted strong attack. Charge the attack to produce flame on impact.

Spear of the Impaler requires one Somber Smithing Stone for every level to upgrade until +9. The final level at +10 requires a Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.
