Spear whittled from the weapon wielded by Gransax. One of the legendary armaments. A great ancient dragon, Gransax once rained calamity upon the Royal Capital - the only time in historical record that Leyndell's walls have fallen. This marked the dawn of the war against the ancient dragons.

On the Giant Spear in Leyndell, Royal Capital

This weapon can be obtained from the top of the giant spear in Leyndell, near the area where Godfrey, First Elden Lord is fought.

From the Erdtree Sanctuary Site of Grace, take the door to the west and then use the elevator. You'll spot the giant spear when you reach the floor below. You'll need to hop over the railing in order to drop to the end sticking out of the wall.

How to Use Bolt of Gransax

Scales with Dexterity and Strength

The Bolt of Gransax mainly scales with Dexterity and has the most stat scaling bonus with this attribute. Equipping the Prosthesis-Wearer Heirloom can further increase the damage of your physical attacks by raising your Dexterity.

Leveling up your Intelligence attribute will improve the Lightning damage and weapon skill of this weapon. You can get more from the stat scaling bonus by equipping the Stargazer Heirloom talisman that will raise your Intelligence.

Lightning Damage Weapon

The weapon's physical attacks deal additional Lightning damage and can be used effectively against enemies and bosses with low Lightning resistance. Most notably, Dragons and enemies that are heavily armored.

If you are looking to improve the lightning damage capabilities of the Bolt of Gransax, equipping the Lightning Scorpion Charm talisman will increase its damage output but will lower your damage negation.

Weapon Skill can Deal Great Lightning Damage

This weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War and has the Ancient Lightning Spear as its default skill. When activated it imbues the weapon in red lightning before hurling it forward at great speeds.

This skill can be charged to deal more damage and you can increase it further with the talismans Godfrey Icon and Shard of Alexander.
