How to Use Caestus

Scales with Strength and Dexterity

The Caestus equally scales with both attributes but is still mainly a Strength-based weapon. Upgrading it past +13 will improve the stat scaling bonus with Strength. The Starscourge Heirloom can further increase the damage of your attacks by raising your Strength.

Additionally, you can change the affinity of your weapons by using different whetblades to improve the default scaling of this weapon to better scale with your other stats.

Good Early Game Fist Weapon

This weapon can be acquired in the early game and is an ideal weapon for players with builds focused around Strength armaments. It is versatile and capable of dealing good damage with its fast-hitting normal and strong strike attacks.

The attack speed of Caestus can easily apply status effects such as Hemorrhage, Frost, and Poison are recommended affinities for an additional damage source.

Infusable with Ashes of War

This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War and is equipped with Endure as its default weapon skill. It boosts the user Poise and damage negation for a brief period.

Taking hits will not stagger you easily while this skill is active allowing you to keep attacking through enemy attacks. It is a very useful skill against enemies or bosses that have quick successive attacks, for example Malenia's Waterfowl Dance.
