We recommend fighting Black Blade Kindred at level 10 for a standard difficulty experience. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.
Multi-Hit Combos with the Sword
The Black Blade Kindred uses two weapons, a sword and a halberd. When using the sword, the boss makes use of multi-hit combos which means you should not attack between the sword swings. Wait for it to finish the combo before trying to deal damage.
Wide Sweeping Attacks with the Halberd
The Black Blade Kindred's second weapon is a large halberd which can do wide sweeping attacks. However, its attacks with the halberd are slow and have a wind-up making it possible to dodge them easily. Just keep calm when facing the boss so you can see its attacks clearly.
If you have the gargoyle's attention, focus on dodging instead of attacking and let your teammates do the damage.
Avoid Chasing the Boss
The Black Blade Kindred often jumps away and uses a diving attack with the halberd to close the gap to its target. Avoid trying to chase the boss and focus on dodging its incoming attacks so you can counter effectively.
If the gargoyle is too far away, wait for it to jump towards its target instead to avoid having to run towards the boss and consume precious stamina that you'll otherwise use for your combos.
Watch Out for Black Flame Attacks
The Black Blade Kindred also makes use of black flame attacks with its weapons. Using the sword, it can unleash a wave towards you from afar that you can dodge sideways. With the halberd, it can do a Black Flame Tornado attack which you should run away from.

The Black Blade Kindred is a boss you can find on expeditions in Limveld, particularly at the top of the big castle or in the forest areas.
