We recommend fighting Royal Revenant at level 6 for a standard difficulty experience. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.
Keep Your Distance When it Explodes
When the Royal Revenant's body starts to glow, it will use an exploding attack that can cover a large area around it. This has a long cast time, so you have plenty of time to keep your distance and back away.
You can also use Ultimate Arts since these moves will make you invincible for the duration of the attack to avoid the damage without having to back away from the boss.
Dodge to the Side to Avoid its Poison Spit
The Royal Revenant can use a poison spit attack that can travel a long distance and leaves a trail of poison AOE in its wake.
Fortunately, this move has a long cast time and you can simply evade the move by dodging sideways.
Watch Out for Follow-Up Attacks
The Royal Revenant's basic combos often have a follow-up attack. These attacks initially appear slow, but the boss will follow-up with another slash or slam attack that can catch you off guard.
Play it safe by dodging its attacks sideways to avoid potential follow-up attacks. If you're playing as a Guardian, you can also completely block the attacks even with the starting Guardian's Greatshield.
Damage the Boss with Healing Incantations
The boss is susceptible to healing incantations with even the basic Heal spell dealing significant damage to it.
Using healing incantations will stun the boss out of its attacks and charged healing spells can even stagger the boss enough that you can use a riposte against it. Use any healing spells you have so that you can maintain the stagger against the boss and quickly defeat it.
