We recommend fighting Dancer of the Boreal Valley at Level 12 for a standard difficulty experience. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.
During the first phase of the fight, Dancer of the Boreal Valley will be wielding a flame sword on their left hand. At a certain point, the boss will hold a small flame on their right hand and throw it onto the ground, causing an explosion.
Once you see Dancer of the Boreal Valley hold a flame on their right hand, immediately back away to avoid the blast.

When Dancer of the Boreal Valley's HP reaches half, the fight will now enter its second phase and the boss will pull out a magic sword on its right hand.
This will make the battle a bit more challenging, as Dancer of the Boreal Valley becomes more aggressive with its attacks. Keep on your toes and remain mobile to avoid damage.
With two swords in hand, Dancer of the Boreal Valley can perform a series of spinning attacks that could make dodging and countering difficult. You can interrupt this by using your Ultimate Arts at the boss and deal as much damage as you can afterward.
With that said, we recommend that everyone should save their Ultimate Arts for this move alone.
How to Charge Your Ultimate Gauge

If you find yourself targeted by Dancer of the Boreal Valley, it's best to just dodge and avoid combat until the boss de-aggros at you. Meanwhile, teammates can use this opportunity to attack from behind.
Dancer of the Boreal Valley is one of the possible Night Bosses that appear at the end of the second night of an Expedition. It is also one of the six bosses from the Dark Souls series that appear in the game.
