Dodge rolls are performed by pressing the dodge button with any directional input in Elden Ring Nightreign. See how to do dodge rolls, the effects and benefits, as well as how to buff them.

How to Dodge Roll

Press Dodge While Moving

You can perform a dodge roll by pressing the dodge button while tilting the analog stick in any direction.

Dodge at Neutral to Hop Back

You can also perform a quick hop backwards by pressing the dodge button without any directional input.

This consumes less Stamina than dodge rolls and is useful for avoiding attacks while still facing your target.

Dodge Roll Effects and Benefits

Avoid Incoming Damage

Dodge rolls are primarily used to avoid incoming damage by moving out of the attack's range or by using the invincibility window (commonly referred to as i-frames) to evade attacks.

The invincibility window is a brief moment during a dodge roll when you are invulnerable to attacks. Be wary as some attacks have long animations and can still hit you through dodge rolls!

Take the Improved Dodging Dormant Power

Your dodge roll can be improved by taking Improved Dodging from the Dormant Power that bosses drop. This lengthens the invincibility window when dodging, making it easier to evade attacks.
