Demon in Pain and Demon from Below Night Boss

Demon in Pain and Demon from Below are one of the possible Night Bosses that appear at the end of Night 1 of the Balancers' expedition. Their appearance indicates that you will likely face the Demon Prince at the end of Night 2.

Recommended Level for Demon in Pain and Demon from Below

Recommended Level Level 7

We recommend fighting Demon in Pain and Demon from Below at Level 7 for a standard difficulty experience. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.

Build Up Fire Damage Negation

Both the Demon in Pain and Demon from Below deal fire damage. With that in mind, make sure to build up your fire damage negation.

You can look for weapons that offer Fire Damage Negation, as well as the Improved Affinity Damage Negation Dormant Power. Additionally, stock up on Boiled Crabs to increase your resistance to the bosses' physical attacks.

Attack Affinities and Element Guide

Split Up the Demon Bosses

Demon in Pain and Demon from Below Split Up Split Up

Make sure to split both Demon dragons up to avoid getting mobbed by their attacks. The Demon in Pain is the redder dragon, while the Demon from Below is the lighter orange one. Melee fighters can tank the latter and block its attacks, while ranged players focus on the former.

Who You Kill Last Will Affect Demon Prince Boss Fight

Demon in Pain and Demon form Below Die Last

With both Demon dragons appearing, you will likely face the Demon Prince at the end of Night 2. However, whichever dragon you kill last in this boss fight will determine which version of the Demon Prince you'll encounter.

If you kill the Demon from Below last, you’ll get a Demon Prince that shoots lasers and leaves magma wherever they hit. If you kill the Demon in Pain last, you’ll get a Demon Prince that fires flurries of homing fireballs.

We recommend killing the Demon from Below last, as the magma laser is easier to evade. The Demon in Pain's homing fireballs can be harder to maneuver around.
