Equilibrious Beast, also known as Libra, Creature of Night, is a boss in Elden Ring: Nightreign. Learn how to unlock and defeat Equilibrious Beast, as well as best combat tips and weaknesses for Equilibrious Beast.
Equilibrious Beast Weakness
Weak Against Madness
Despite Libra, Creature of Night itself inflicting Madness, it also happens to be weak to the Madness status effect itself. If you are able to bring Frenzied Flame Incantations and equipment, they can help you immensely in the fight against Libra, Creature of Night.
Take note however that Madness items are not abundant and thus, this weakness is more of a soft suggestion than a hard requirement when it comes to this fight.

We recommend fighting Libra, Creature of Night at level 12 for a standard difficulty experience. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.
Avoid its Frenzied Flame Spells
Libra, Creature of Night can use Frenzied Flame spells that can inflict madness on your character, rapidly draining their health and stunning them for a few seconds. These spells are often cast on the ground in large circles, and sometimes directly under Libra itself.
Libra can cast these spells relatively fast and often cast right after its melee combos, so watch the ground so you know where Libra is casting the AOE spells.
Dispel its Golden Shield
Once you bring Libra's HP to half, it will surround itself with a golden shield that can deflect all attacks. You'll need to dispel the shield by breaking all the golden glyphs around it.
You'll need to dispel all glyphs otherwise Libra, Creature of Night will gain a buff that increases its defense and poise, making it harder to stun it out of its attacks.
Alternatively, you can brute force through its shield with enough damage and achieve the same effect as dispeling the glyphs.
Prepare to Avoid Its Rage Attacks
If you dispel all the glyphs or break through the shield, Libra will fall to the ground and become enraged, unleashing a barrage of attacks against the Nightfarers.
During this rage, trying to weave in attacks is ill-advised and it would be better to wait out the attacks completely before resuming damage.
Wait Out the Buffs
In the event that Libra finishes channeling its buff, your best bet is to continuously avoid its attacks until the buff has disappeared. The presence of the buff is indicated by the gold shimmers on it after its shield channel.
Waiting the buff out will extend the fight but it ensures that you and your team can do more meaningful damage later on while maintaining the same risk level.
Collect Madness Crystals
A portion of Libra's attacks will leave behind madness crystals on the battlefield and can be picked up to counter and hinder the Madness ailment afflicted onto the player.
Collect these whenever you can as they become almost required when Libra performs its arena-wide Madness inflict, which can only be countered via interruption, or by having enough Madness resist gathered from the crystals.
Rush Down Libra When It Channels
Libra's Arena-Wide Madness channel can be countered in two ways, Having health to tank the damage and grabbing the madness crystals, or by rushing down the enemy in an attempt to get them off of the channel animation.
Doing enough damage to Libra is enough to break it out of the channel, preventing you from being afflicted with Madness as well as giving you room to strike while it recovers.
Use the Raider's Totem Stela
The Raider's Ultimate Art, Totem Stela is very useful during the fight against Libra, Creature of Night as you can use it as a platform to safely avoid its ground AOE spells and even its regular ranged and melee attacks. You can also use the stela as a makeshift shield to block Libra's ranged spells.
Ranged characters like Ironeye and Recluse can also climb the Totem Stela and safely cast their ranged attacks without getting hit by Libra's attacks.
Employ Hit and Run Tactics
Libra, Creature of Night's moveset makes it extremely punishing to overcommit to a combo, so it is best to employ hit and run tactics against Libra and slowly whittle down its HP to ensure your survival.
It is important to play slow as you will eventually end up in a routine where you hit Libra, then dodge their attacks and repeat the process.

The Equilibrious Beast (Libra) Event Raid is triggered when Libra randomly appears and casts a curse of reduced max HP upon the players. When this happens, a red circle will appear on the map marking its location. Make sure to check the map first since its location can vary per expedition.
Libra will take the form of the Demon Merchant (Scale-Bearing Merchant) once you spot it at the marked location. To cure the curse, you will need to have 1 player pay 15,000 Runes. Once paid, the curse will be lifted. You will then receive the passive Demon's Plating.

Offers Advantages With Side-Effects
The Equilibrious Beast has a mechanic at the start of the fight where it offers Nightfarers a list of random buffs with drawbacks. These buffs affect things such as their Levels, a certain stat, or even give them items and damage boosts.
However, these deals will also take similar things away from them as the price.

Defeat Gladius in an Expedition
Libra, Creature of Night, is unlocked by defeating Gladius in an Expedition. Libra is one of the several Nightlords that become available for Expeditions afterward.

Reach Third Day Of Its Expedition
Libra, Creature of Night needs to be reached on the third day of its expedition. You can then find the Scale-Bearing Merchant inside the boss room, where you can choose to interact with them or to hit them immediately.
