What are Straight Swords?
Weapons Favored by High Strength and Dex Scaling Characters
Straight Swords have decent scaling in both Strength and Dexterity, making them well-balanced weapons for all Nightfarers, especially those with high stats in either attribute.
In Nightreign, weapons don't have stat requirements. Unlike in the original game, all Nightfarers will be able to use all weapons found during a match.
Fast, Versatile, and Easy to Use
The Straight Sword swings fast and deals solid damage. With quick, close-range attacks, it’s a forgiving weapon, even if you miss, since the quick animations let you recover and strike again or dodge to safety.
Straight Swords are highly versatile, with a wide range of options of different strengths, making them easy to fit into many builds. They also pair well with something on your off-hand like Medium Shields, Sacred Seals, or even another Straight Sword for dual-wielding.
How to Get Straight Swords
Straight Swords are Found Randomly
Straight Swords are part of Nightreign's randomized loot pool (which varies per match). During a run, they can be dropped by enemies, found as loot in chests within POIs, or claimed as rewards from defeated bosses.
