Recommended Level for Lord of Blood

Recommended Level Level 12

We recommend fighting Lord of Blood at Level 12 for a standard difficulty experience. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.

Stock Up on Stanching Boluses to Counter Blood Loss

Most of the Lord of Blood’s attacks inflict Blood Loss from bloodflame, which slowly drains your HP. Equip relics that grant Blood Loss Immunity before going on an expedition, or loot Stanching Boluses to alleviate impending Blood Loss.

Mohg often imbues his trident with bloodflame and scatters yellow flames on the floor around the arena. Avoid the flames as much as possible and consume a Stanching Bolus as insurance to lessen the effect.

In the original Elden Ring, Mohg was weak to Bleed. While we haven't confirmed if this is still the case in Nightreign, players can try dealing Bleed damage against the boss, as it can take out massive chunks of HP over time regardless.

Buffs and Status Effects

Destroy Red Pillars for Safe Zones

Mohg Shoot Red Pillars

Once you chip a third of Mohg’s HP, he starts doing a new move that raises trident-shaped red pillars across the arena, which will explode Blood Loss once charged.

When the red pillars appear, destroy at least one pillar (preferably on the sides) to create a safe zone from the Blood Loss blast. A more effective method is to destroy two pillars at opposite ends so Mohg doesn’t aggro toward one corner of your squad.

Melee Players Tank, While Ranged Shoot

Mohg Ranged Attacks

Mohg has a variety of short-range melee and AoE attacks, all easily telegraphed by how he winds up his trident or when it becomes imbued with bloodflame. Have at least one ranged user draw aggro while melee players strike from behind the boss.

Just make sure to keep your distance once he starts throwing bloodflame or flies for a ground slam attack.
