Recommended Level for Erdtree Burial Watchdogs

Recommended Level Level 7

We recommend fighting Erdtree Burial Watchdogs at Level 7 for a standard difficulty experience. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.

Clear Out Surrounding Enemies

There are a bunch of smaller mobs in the ruins when you encounter the watchdogs, take care of them first to have a smoother fight.

Dodge the Stomp Attacks

Both of the Erdtree Burial Watchdogs uses stomp attacks after it flies off the ground. These can be easily dodged as long as you stop attacking and prepare to dodge when it lifts off into the air.

Attack from Behind the Watchdogs

Attacking the Watchdogs from behind can be the best option to avoid most of its attacks. They have long wind-up animations and are clearly telegraphed so you'll know when to dodge.

Ranged attacks are also quite effective especially against the watchdog with the sword.

Watch Out for the Magic Attacks

The Watchdog wielding a staff has magic attacks you'll have to look out for. Hide behind some cover or time your dodge well to avoid getting hit. You can also stay close to the watchdog and dodge after the magic bolts start moving.

How to Unlock Erdtree Burial Watchdogs

Fought as a Boss at Ruins

The Erdtree Burial Watchdogs are two watchdog statues that you'll have to fight as one boss found at ruins in Limveld. One of the watchdogs use a big sword while the other uses a staff for magic attacks.
