The Sparring Grounds allows the player to practice with the combat in Elden Ring Nightreign. Learn where to find the Sparring Grounds and the available settings you can choose for your sparring practice in this guide.
List of Contents

The Sparring Grounds is located northwest of the Hold, accessible by heading north from the Dresser or via a broken wall section on the northern central hallway from the Expeditions Table. The player can also fast travel from this location by pressing the menu button and selecting the Sparring Grounds area.
The player will be in the radius of the Sparring Grounds once they see their combat UI pop up and the current character draws their weapon. This is the only place where the player can actively use their weapons in the Hold.

During training, you can choose to adjust your current Nightfarer's level and other stats on the fly. This will allow you to gauge your character's damage output, durability, and other capabilities at each level.
The player can go for levels 1-15 and change all of their stats as well as apply infinite or standard options for health, FP and stamina depending on what properties they need testing.
All Stats Explained

By pressing the menu button, the player is able to access the training menu to allow them to customize their combat stats and change their properties depending on the player's needs.

You can choose an equipment from the Equipment Tent near the target dummies on the west side. This will allow you to practice certain equipment types and get a feel for them.
All known unlockable eapons, skills and items are unlocked here for the player to use freely. The weapons stay on the character if they leave the Grounds but do not carry when going through expeditions.
The main purpose of the Sparring Grounds is to conduct individual test battles against the AI, in this case represented by an inactive Dummy that the player can activate to engage in combat and test out damage or equiprment.
The Dummy cannot be customized and will act the same as a regular enemy. When it loses all of its HP, it regains full health and should the player get too far away from the combat zone, the Dummy will return to its inactive form.
Aside from this, a group of target dummies are also available, primarily for ranged users like the Ironeye or the Recluse and their gear. These dummies regenerate their health quickly and cannot be destroyed.

The players can change their characters on the fly in the Sparring Grounds as well by going to the wooden post beside the Equipment Tent or by going through the training menu to swap characters.
Aside from changing levels and characters, you cannot set any training modes that will adjust the training dummy's AI. It will function like a regular enemy and will decide to take its own action on itself.
