Mage Towers are locked towers that you'll need to unlock by destroying their crest in Elden Ring Nightreign. Learn how to Open the Sorcerer's Rise (Mage Towers) in the game as well as the possible loot you can obtain from the tower.

How to Open Mage Towers and Find Crests
Destroy the Hidden Crests
There is a hidden crest near the Sorcerer's Rise that you'll need to scout and locate. Once found, you'll need to attack it or simply go through it to enter the tower.
Where is the Hidden Crest?

- Enter the Tower Without a Crest on the Entrance
- In a Puddle Near the Tower
- Hidden in the Grass

- Disguised as a Tree
- Disguised as a Statue
- Disguised as a Stump

- Hit the Extinguished Candle
- On the Second Floor
Crests Are Always Near the Tower
The crests needed to unlock the Mage Tower will never be located far from the tower itself. Simply circle around the tower and explore the nearby vicinity to find the crest.
Enter the Tower Wthout a Crest on the Entrance
If the entrance to the Mage Tower doesn't have a crest on it, you can simply attack it to open the entrance.
In a Puddle Near the Tower
The crest may be hiding in a puddle near the tower. The crest will flash periodically, allowing Nightfarers to locate it easily. Attack it while it is flashing in the puddle.
Hidden in the Grass
The crest may be hiding in the grass near the tower. The grass in the area where the crest is located will be swaying, so you can search for swaying grass to help you find the hidden crest.
On an Exterior Wall
The crest may also be on an exterior wall, such as above the entrance to the tower. In this case, Nightfarers will not be able to reach the crest with a melee weapon. You will need to use a ranged weapon such as a Bow to destroy the crest.
Disguised as a Tree
One of the more complicated locations is a crest disguised as a tree near a tower. The tree with the crest disguised is a slightly whitish color and has no leaves, so if you see a tree like this, try attacking it.
Disguised as a Statue
The crest may also appear as a statue near the entrance to the tower. If there is a statue near the entrance, attack it to see if it is there.
Disguised as a Stump
Sometimes the crest will be disguised as a stump and run away from your Nightfarer. If you get too close, it will run away quickly. Simply chase after it and attack it.
Attack the Extra Structure
If there is an extended structure at the side of the tower that has wooden frames and windows, you can hit it to reveal the crest.
Wall Without a Stone Statue
If you can enter the tower without breaking a crest outside, then it's usually inside the tower. If there's a missing stone statue, hit the wall to reveal the crest.
Hit the Extinguished Candle
If there are two stone statues in the tower, check the candles by the entrance. If one is extinguished, hit the candle to reveal the crest.
On the Second Floor
If there are no crests in the tower's first floor, try checking the walls on the second floor of the tower.
Rewards From Mage Towers
Sorcery and Magic-Related Drops
The majority of the loot you can get from mage towers will be mostly sorcery-related items. These are staves or gear with passives that strengthen sorceries. If you're playing a mage build, do consider hunting for mage towers for more boons.
