Elden Ring Nightreign - How to Change Characters

This is a guide to changing your character (class) in Elden Ring Nightreign. Learn how to change your character at the Roundtable Hold's bell as well as changing your character when launching an expedition.

Character Select Bell

Your character (class) can be changed when interacting with the bell beside the suit of armor at the Roundtable Hold. You can switch in and out of unlocked Nightfarers at any time by interacting with the object.

This allows you to practice in the Sparring Grounds as characters before you launch expeditions.

Select a Character When Launching an Expedition

Select a Character Screen

When launching an expedition, you will have a chance to select a character in a Character Select menu before proceeding into the expedition. Note the 'Gather in' timer at the top-right of the screen since you will lock in on a selected character if this timer runs out.

Remember that you will not be able to change characters once you are in an expedition. You can only do so in the Roundtable Hold or when embarking on an expedition.

How to Unlock More Characters

When starting out in Elden Ring Nightreign, two (2) Nightfarer characters will be locked, specifically Duchess and Revenant.

  • To unlock Duchess, you must show an Old Pocketwatch to the Hooded Figure. This watch has a chance to drop after an expedition.
  • To unlock Revenant, you must first unlock Duchess and purchase a Besmirched Frame. Afterward, you'll need to defeat the Revenant herself, also known as the Night Idol, to get her as a NIghtfarer.
