Recommended Level for Demon Prince

Recommended Level Level 10

We recommend fighting Demon Prince at Level 10 for a standard difficulty experience. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.

Who You Killed Last Between the Demon Dragons in Night 1 Affects the Boss Fight

Demon in Pain and Demon form Below Die Last

Who you killed last in the Demon in Pain and Demon from Below boss fight the night before determines the version of the Demon Prince you'll encounter. The Demon in Pain version shoots homing fireballs, while the Demon from Below version shoots magma lasers.

Build Up Fire Damage Negation

The Demon Prince is a flaming boss that deals fire damage, so it’s important to counter this by building up your fire damage negation. Equip relics that grant Fire Damage Negation before taking on the Balancers' expedition.

During the run, make sure to look for weapons and Dormant Powers that offer Fire Damage Negation. You can also purchase Boiled Crabs to increase your resistance to the boss' physical attacks.

Attack Affinities and Element Guide

Use Ultimate Skill to Cancel Magma Laser

Demon Prince Magma Laser

If you killed the Demon from Below last in Night 1, this Demon Prince frequently uses fire AoE attacks, including a laser that leaves magma wherever it hits. This can be difficult to dodge in the confined boss arena.

Use your Ultimate whenever the boss fires the laser to cancel it, leaving him vulnerable for a short time so you can deal extra damage!

How to Charge Your Ultimate Gauge

Stay Near the Boss During Fireball Attacks

If you killed the Demon in Pain last in Night 1, this version of the Demon Prince has more aerial attacks, including one where he shoots homing fireballs that deal devastating damage.

You can either keep your distance and go on the defensive, or stay close to the boss. The latter creates an opportunity for counterattacks since the Demon Prince remains still while firing. Just make sure to dodge roll at the last moment before the fireballs hit.

Get Behind the Boss' Back

Demon Prince Hit the Back

When not shooting fire, the Demon Prince performs short-range melee attacks with his arms. Stay behind him to avoid his front attacks and strike from the back.

Have another player, preferably a ranged user like Ironeye or Recluse, draw aggro while you hit the Demon Prince from behind. Only back away when the boss flies into the air, as this telegraphs a coming slam attack or fire bomb.
