We recommend fighting Fell Omen at level 9 for a standard difficulty experience. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.
The Fell Omen throws multiple daggers when at range and in quick succession. You can dodge these with a well-timed roll and/or hiding behind cover if there is any available. You can also block with a shield and even hide behind an ally with a shield like the Guardian.
He also has a pattern where he backflips away from you to create distance and immediately starts throwing daggers. When you see him backflip away, be prepared for the flurry of daggers being thrown at you after.
When facing the Fell Omen, be patient in timing your attacks since he can do a long string of attacks with no opening in between. The best times to punish him is when he uses his hammer to attack which will take him more time to recover from the animation.
There's also some dual wield attack animations that have long recovery times which you can use to deal damage to the Fell Omen. Bait him to use these moves by being in melee range but be sure to dodge right as he launches the attack to avoid damage.
Together with your allies, you can easily create openings to freely hit the Fell Omen from behind and from afar. The Fell Omen's melee attacks are mostly directed only to those in front of him leaving his back wide open.
Take turns between your allies in landing hits depending on who gets aggro, this is best done with ranged attackers like the Recluse who can bombard him with magic at will.
At some point in the fight, the Fell Omen will start to infuse his blade with Bloodflame giving him increased range on his attacks. As soon as you recognize him doing this, keep your distance to avoid the bloodflame slashes he sends out around him.
During this phase, he will exclusively use his blade for all his attacks so you should observe first before attacking blindly. He is also able to send out bloodflame slashes centered on your location which you can dodge roll out of.
Aside from the wide area bloodflame attacks, the Fell Omen also has other wide area attacks like summoning swords of light to rain on the battlefield and causing explosions to emerge from the ground.
During these attacks, watch your feet to avoid getting hit and caught in the wrong place. As for the rain of swords, just dodge roll repeatedly away from him to safety. These are continuous attacks so don't jump right back in.

The Fell Omen Raid is just like every other Night Boss battle, possessing the same movesets. We suggest fighting the Fell Omen normally as you would. If you are near a Site of Grace when the Raid Event happens and have enough runes, we advise you to take advantage of leveling up first.
Defeating this Fell Omen will reward you with runes and the passive Traces of Grace-Giving Lord.
Raid Events Guide

The Fell Omen is unlocked by default and can be fought as either a Night Boss at the end of the second day of an expedition or as a boss that appears during a boss raid while preparing for the night.

The Fell Omen also appears as the boss during the Tutorial. At the end of the Tutorial, you will face the boss along with an AI-controlled partner. The Fell Omen here has a similar moveset but uses fewer AoE attacks.
