The castle houses lots of bosses and elite enemies in Elden Ring Nightreign. Check out the optimal route to follow in the castle, and all the rewards you can get in the castle!

Castle Optimal Route Guide
- Head to the Basement
- Defeat the Underground Boss
- Go to the Second Floor for a Talisman
- Open the Gate and Defeat the Enemies
- Climb the Collapsed Wall to the Boss Area
- Defeat the Boss on Top of the Castle
Head to the Basement
Go to the lower part of the castle by the river where the jellyfish are to enter the passage into the castle's basement. Don't forget to get the Boost Rune Acquisition buff from the small tree before heading inside.
Defeat the Underground Boss
There is a boss in the basement of the castle as you enter it, and you should be strong enough to defeat it by the 2nd day. If you plan to beat it on the 1st day, it's recommended to be at least Level 5 or 6.
Defeating the boss lifts the fog gate at the end of the boss room, leading to the room that contains the talisman chest. Proceed with caution, as there may be another enemy on the ledge before you reach the stairway to the area with the talisman chest. This usually happens when the castle has Crucible Knight spawns.
Go to the Second Floor for a Talisman
Head up the stairs after defeating the basement boss, and you should see a treasure chest. Interact with it to spawn a Dormant Power orb, which lets the whole team choose one of three talisman options.
Open the Gate and Defeat the Enemies
As you open the gate, head to the castle ramparts and defeat the enemies there. If the castle spawned Banished Knights and Crucible Knights, then it's good to start killing enemies starting from the ground floor up to the top. Defeating them will earn you a large number of runes.
However, if you get Giant spawns, you're better off starting from the top and make your way down, even starting from the castle boss if you're on day 2 and you're level 9 or 10, since these giants throw pots that deal high damage, The giants drop Dormant Power orbs once defeated.
Climb the Collapsed Wall to the Boss Area
Continue up the stairs and you should see a collapsed wall. Climb it to reach the top of the castle, where the boss is located.
Defeat the Boss on Top of the Castle
The boss at the top of the castle is the final enemy you'll face before fully clearing the area. These bosses are challenging, so make sure you're well prepared.
Castle Rewards
Guaranteed Talismans
Defeating the basement boss leads to the area with the treasure chest containing talismans, though you can only pick one of three options.
Runes and Dormant Powers
In an expedition where the castle spawns Crucible Knights, you can earn up to 300,000 runes by defeating all of the elite enemies. The Giant trolls will drop Dormant Power orbs after defeating them, so it's worthwile to defeat all of the enemies in the castle.
