How to Use Certain Map Actions and Attacks

Wall Jump

Wall Jumping can be done by pressing the jump button again while facing a ledge. This will make the character mantle to climb some scalable ledges and cliffs.

To ensure your direction when wall jumping, use your directional controls to directly face a wall and make the character respond to the wall jump faster.

You can jump on Spiritstreams to perform a Spiritstream Jump. This will allow you to jump a massive amount of altitude and jump through massive cliffs. Use Spiritstreams when exploring to reach higher elevation areas.

You can control the direction of the long jump while in the peak of its arc by using the directional keys. This will be much more difficult if you want to jump from behind and is best applied on forward jumps.

You can ride Spectral Hawks on Spectral Hawk Trees. Find blue spectral trees around the map, usually on inclines and hold your interact key to fly. The Hawk's flight and altitude can be steered slightly by using your directional keys.

You can also descend by holding your interact key to make the bird descend, this will slowly cause you to fall and pressing the sprint key will disembark you from the Hawk. These should only be used in cases where you need to quickly move to another position.

Guard Counter

You can use a Guard Counter by blocking an enemy attack with a shield then using the strong attack input to initiate a Guard Counter. This is attacks deals more damage and poise damage against enemies than your standard strong attack.

Dodge Rolls

Dodge Roll Input

Using Dodge Rolls against attacks allows you to dodge enemy attacks. You can also use this towards enemy attacks to execute an I-frame dodge to avoid enemy attacks completely.
