We recommend fighting Snowfield Trolls at Level 10 for a standard difficulty experience. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.
Defeat the Giant Dogs First
When you encounter the Snowfield Trolls, you can see them fighting off Giant Dogs. Defeat the dogs first, as they're easy to take down as mid-level mobs. Clearing out the dogs will also make the actual fight against the Snowfield Trolls more manageable.
Dodge Sideways When They Roll
With the Giant Dogs out of the way, you can now focus on the Snowfield Trolls. These bosses move and attack slowly, making it easy to dodge and punish them.
One of their attacks, however, involves rolling forward and damaging everything in their path. To counter this, simply dodge sideways as soon as you see the Snowfield Troll winding up.
Watch Out for Stomps and Sweeps
Snowfield Trolls also use their sword for wide-ranging sweep attacks and stomp the ground with their foot. Time your dodges accordingly whenever they raise their sword or ready their leg for a stomp.

Fought at the Mountaintop
Snowfield Trolls appear as World Bosses at the Mountaintop Shifting Earth zone. They are located on the east side of the snowy mountains.

Improved Frost Resistance
One of the Dormant Powers you can obtain from defeating the Snowfield Trolls is Improved Frost Resistance, which reduces damage caused by Frostbite and frost accumulation.
We recommend getting this Dormant Power if you're on a Fissure in the Fog Expedition to counter the Night Lord Caligo's Frostbite attacks.
