Can Rarely Drop in Castle POI Bosses

CastleCastle Castles are usually found at the center of the map and houses mobs, bosses, and treasures. You will want specifically to check the basement/bottom of the castle for a boss.

We have observed that there is a chance for a random legendary weapon to be part of the reward pool when defeating a boss in the basement of the Castle POI (point-of-interest). This is not guaranteed on every run, but it is worth a shot if you have the levels and equipment to handle it.

Legendary weapons can easily be identified by their gold border color. You can also guess that a reward orb will have them if they also emit a gold glow.

Can Rarely Drop from Field Bosses

Sword of Night and Flame

Field BossField Boss Bosses wandering the overworld. Make sure to level up enough and prepare as these Field Bosses are powerful.

Above is a sample legendary drop Sword of Night and Flame from an Ice Dragon Field Boss.

Aside from POI locations, Field Bosses also have a rare chance to have a Legendary Weapon in its reward orb pool. Note that Field Bosses are very difficult to defeat early on, being able to one-shot or two-shot players if they are underleveled.

Upgrade a Weapon to Legendary Tier

Crater Altar

When you defeat the Magma Wyrm final boss as part of the Crater Shifting Earth event, collect its drops and then examine the Special Smithing Table at the altar.

You will be able to select one weapon you have of any rarity to upgrade to Legendary tier. This will also remove its Level Requirements, allowing you to wield powerful weapons early before you are supposed to.

Minimum Character Level 10 to Use

Axe of Godfrey Level Requirement

To effectively use Legendary Weapons and their skills, you must have a character level of 10. Take advantage of rune-boosting methods such as Relics that boost rune acquisition, or keep farming runes by quickly clearing POIs

An exception to the minimum level requirement is if you use the smithing table at the Crater to upgrade a Rare Weapon to a Legendary Weapon. You will be able to use this weapon at any character level.

How to Level Up Fast

Legendary Weapons Require No Further Upgrade

Legendary weapons are already set at their maximum rarity: gold (Legendary), so there's no need to upgrade them with Smithing Stones. If you are already settled with using a legendary weapon, you can focus on spending your runes elsewhere.
