Darkdrift Knight, also known as Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow, is a boss in Elden Ring Nightreign. Learn how to unlock and defeat Darkdrift Knight and its Everdark Sovereign version, as well as best combat tips and weaknesses for Darkdrift Knight.
List of Contents
Lightning damage is effective against Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow so you should look for Lightning weapons by clearing Strongholds marked with the lightning icon on the days before fighting Fulghor.
Dealing enough lightning damage to Fulghor while he is channeling his holy attack will call a lightning strike on him, dealing decent damage, interrupting his channel and staggering him for a moment.
In the Everdark Sovereign version of the fight, Fulghor is still susceptible to lightning attacks, with lightning still striking him down while he is channeling.
Once he enters the third phase, however, he can no longer be staggered by lightning attacks. This includes the lightning strike that deals damage to him.

Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow has a move where he stops and charges up his spear before plunging it into the ground to send out holy spears on everyone's location and continuously around the battlefield after. These spears can be devastating but can be interrupted by hitting him with any form of lightning damage during the charge up.
Bringing any form of lightning damage you can into the boss fight allows you to avoid dealing with this mechanic. Interrupting this move also impairs him for a bit, allowing you to deal some free damage onto him.
If you were unable to bring any lightning weapon into the fight or you could not hit Fulghor with it at the right time, you can dodge the initial spear by dodging right as he plunges the ground. Afterwards, watch your feet and where you are going to avoid the following spears that emerge around the area.
Be careful not to get hit by the shockwaves from Fulghor's swings. Even when far away from him, the shockwaves can travel far enough to hit you so move accordingly and dodge.
Other than his quick movement around the battlefield, Fulghor may also suddenly turn around and close the gap between you with a jumping attack. Be wary when he raises his weapon as this is usually the cue for him to do the jump attack.
When Fulghor charges around the battlefield super fast while leaving light explosions in his wake, move in the opposite direction of where he's going. If he's moving left to aim the charge at you, move right so you can dodge it more easily.
Beware of the explosions coming from the ground after, you can spam your dodge roll to avoid getting hit by these when in the wrong position.
If you're able to bring Fulghor low enough, he'll grow his missing arm and slam the ground with a strong shockwave. Dodge roll to avoid damage from the shockwave or get far enough when you see him phase transition.
After Fulghor grows his arm for the 2nd phase, his attacks will have increased range often flailing his new arm around in quick succession. When you see him do this, focus on dodging as best as you can and don't think about attacking.
During the 2nd phase, Fulghor has an attack where he jumps high up into the air and slams the ground. This attack can be deadly but you can dodge this by dodge rolling right as his arm reaches the ground.

Although lightning no longer staggers Fulghor after the phase change, he can still be stunned during the first half of the fight. As such, make sure to look for a lightning weapon or incantation during the first two days.
When Fulghor enters his second phase, he will start using ranged attacks. Two of these attacks can easily be dodged as long as you pay attention to his pre-attack animation.
If Fulghor aims at the sky then shoots, arrows will start raining down in two clumps that slowly drift apart. Get out of the path of the arrow rain to dodge the attack.
If Fulghor aims at you, immediately dodge out of the way as he will immediately shoot an arrow of light.
Fulghor's final and strongest ranged attack has him prancing in the air before stopping and aiming downward. Watch where he is aiming, then immediately run away from that area as his arrow will cause a huge explosion.
Getting hit by even one of Fulghor's melee attacks can easily stagger-lock you and deal massive damage to you, if not outright knock you down. To avoid this, try to dodge his attacks, preferrably away from him.
If you are playing a ranged class like Recluse or Ironeye, try to keep your distance as much as possible to avoid his powerful melee attacks.
If you are not confident in your dodging skills, it is possible to tank Fulghor's attacks, either with a shield or with a large enough HP pool. Try to get HP and Resistance buffs to increase your survivability, as his attacks hit pretty hard.

Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow is one of the Nightlords you'll be able to face after defeating Gladius in the Tricephalos expedition. As a Nightlord, Gnoster is fought on the third day of the Darkdrift Knight expedition.
Gladius Weakness and How to Beat
Once you defeat the regular Fulghor, you will be able to fight the Everdark Sovereign version of the fight. This is denoted by the purple Darkdrift Knight icon at the bottom of the boss list.
Take note, however, that the available Everdark Sovereign rotates, so you will only be able to fight Fulghor's harder version if it is the current available Everdark Sovereign.
At the moment, Gnoster is the available Everdark Sovereign.
